Re: The best (or your best) ever CW?
I only have the one (so far)......the C63 Sealander Automatic - Green face on Steel strap but it's an absolute beaut. Judging by what I've seen, I would suspect my next purchase (although how long it will take to persuade Mrs Rothko, I'm not sure) is likely to be the C65 Dartmouth, which is utterly...

Re: Non CW of the Day
As someone who doesn’t keep a watch more than a few months anymore, it’s only gifts that stay in the collection. But for me, knowing I won’t ever sell this one has really increased my love of it.

Re: What book are you reading
How did you find this? I remember I was slightly underwhelmed and wasn’t sure whether that was due to my own expectations of the book or whether I was just a philistine!

Re: What book are you reading
I first read this 10yrs ago. Frankly, it’s incredible, so I’m re-reading its 930 pages. An unbelievable tale told unbelievably well. A literary masterpiece no less. E3A3A373-316A-479D-B237-1E77A8811AA0.jpeg I’ve been meaning to read this for some time, I was recommended it as a holiday book and thi...

Re: Canadian watch ideas…
I have a co-worker that has worn an Atlas for years. It seems to have held up well overall. It's the only thing I've seen her wear at work. I think for the money they are a good value. The designs are a little uninspired, but they seem to be solid. Yeah I quite like the idea of the 38mm titanium qu...

Re: Canadian watch ideas…
I don't have any experience with Halios or Momentum but I do have a Marathon GSAR that has been quite reliable for the 4 years I've had it. I use it for hiking, riding, camping and other outdoor stuff and it has withstood quite a bit of punishment. It doesn't wear big, but at 41mm dia x 14mm thick ...

Canadian watch ideas…
We are in the process of booking our first family trip to Canada for the summer (Vancouver, Victoria and around that way). My initial inner manchild thoughts were that I could justifiably treat myself to a big new expensive winter coat (another of my addictions), until I found out it would be quite ...

Re: DIY Watch Club - Watch building kits (a review)
@Fat-Sam that looks fantastic! Does your dial have applied markers? That's the one thing that disappoints me, that mine is printed and looks very flat (although I suppose at least I didn't need to worry about the hands hitting them!) Tempted to order a different dial to swap in and apply a new seco...

Re: Watchfinder not interested in a watch
I’ve had a couple of not great experiences when offering them watches to sell. I get the impression that they have a computer/algorithm that tells them what they can buy and offer- anything that doesn’t fit in that, confuses them. I guess with some watches they know they have several and don’t/won’t...

Re: DIY Watch Club - Watch building kits (a review)
Great review and mine says hi 😄 I got this as a 40th present from my mum and a year later changed the dial, bezel insert and added an orange second hand. I’m hoping they release a decent fitted lug bracelet but all in all I love it and it wears great. Accuracy is great and I had mine pressure tested...

We have no pets (just to get that in there) and a Dyson V11 Absolute which is great in my mind- but also insanely expensive for a hoover. Me and my missus disagreed and she decided she wanted it, and got it… which is usually the way. The emptying is dead easy and I like being able to take it apart s...

Re: Tribus Watches
My tribi arrived yesterday- the my dog sighs and tri-04. The MDS was planned to be a bit of art/investment rather than a watch I will wear but the tri-04 was a bit of a gamble… here’s my thoughts: The packaging made me laugh as someone had previously mentioned it being like something from eBay- I ha...
