Re: CWL of the day
I can’t even recall the last time this has been in my wrist. In fact, it’s been so long a stretch wearing my C65 Trident Vintage, that I even started entertaining the thought of selling this. (With a major move on the horizon, I’m in a purge mindset at the moment!) [and I still haven’t informed my w...

Re: 25.1.24 teaser
…Regarding the T4 I think it would be a much more bombastic announcement. And to be frank, given the success of the Pro 300, I don't think they are in any hurry to relaunch a Pro 600. If it were me, I would fuse the Pro 600 and the Elite and for the future T4 would make a 600 in Titanium as the &qu...

Re: 25.1.24 teaser
Are people speculating about a wave dial because of the moving water background? My take on that was simply that it’s a dive watch, which then led me to speculate it might be the mk4 Trident Pro. Should we get a pool going on what it will be? Pun not intended.

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
I received the second hand offer of replacement for the first batch Forum LE owners from Peter France like I assume everyone else. I remain conflicted to the best course of action to pursue. While I appreciate the offer from Christopher Ward to get it right, I am reluctant to send my prized watch t...

Re: Connected…or not?
Amor Vincit Omnia , I’ve tried to implement some fairly similar protocols with my phone. I keep it silenced for a good chunk of the day, most pings are off, and I’ve tried without much success to implement a “no screens after 8:00.” It hasn’t been to successful primarily because I’m weak. The irony...

Re: Connected…or not?
I have a smart phone, but do not have service for it. Wifi only. If I'm not at home, or not within router range, I'm not connected . That's fine with me. Just reading that almost gave me a panic attack! I wish I had the will power to do that. Trying to remember life before I had a cell phone is lik...

Re: Connected…or not?
The trick is to control the device and not let the device control you. That’s the dilemma of mobile smart tech in a nutshell. It’s a constant battle, one in which the tide of battle ebbs and flows for me. I think I fall firmly in the 'something of a luddite' category. The so-called 'smart watch' is...

Re: A question for the retirees
It’s interesting how this thread has changed my perspective. Up until this point, retirement has been about the end of something. In this case, the end of my teaching career as I watch my profession transform into something I now despise. With the exception of finally living with my wife, I haven’t ...

Re: A question for the retirees
I'm sorry you are leaving your current job with such a sour taste in your mouth, Drew. My last experience as an employee was also as an educator. For 6 years, I taught boatbuilding until COVID circumstances laid me off. I understand why you would want continue teaching part time in your retirement,...

Re: A question for the retirees
An interesting topic, Drew, about which I feel there is a lot of mystique but in the main 'Retirement' is something that is different for all of us . One point that is apparent from the replies to date is that we all seem to be, how shall I put it, financially comfortable , no doubt as a result of ...
