No not a choice...…my pension doesn't quite stretch and I'm not prepared to sell my soul to the Devil. But if, in my dreams, my 'man stuff kitty' went to that figure there'd be many other things that would give me more satisfaction than a crazy watch.

Re: Timex M79 Automatic
Nice enough, but for that price a Seiko or Orient would be my choice (if I was in the market for a similar watch). I don't see Timex as a particularly cool brand though.

Re: Quartz - no need to hide...
No problem with quartz here, I like to keep a variety of options. Although I have offloaded a lot of watches over the last couple of years, I have a mixture of movement types. Currently 3 Quartz 2 Manual wind 4 Automatic I have to admit the quartz ones are my 'in a hurry, grab and go' watches. So no...

Re: Tissot pr516
Further on this subject, a leather strap with a correct width notch would be the way to go (a correct bracelet would be almost impossible to find) which could be done by any custom watch strap maker worth their salt. Also notching tools are available. It would also need pressure bars and rivet ends ...

Re: Tissot pr516
PS> bit of a dumb question I know, but have you given us the correct model number, as the watches I found on a Google search had standard lugs, using a standard strap e.g. Birth year watches - Tissot PR516 Pretty easy to tell the model of these as it actually on the lower half of the dial above the...

Re: Seiko 5 Brian May Limited Edition | SRPE83K1
There are thousands of obsessive Brian May fans out there across the world with their Red Special re-issue guitars and their AC30 amps. These will go down well with that crowd I have no doubt. Alas I am not one of them.

Re: Deep sea diving for Oldies
It's a great looking watch and that's a perfect reason for owning it.
Similarly I have a Breitling Superocean which is rated at 1500m and the deepest I get is a well filled bath or bobbing about in a pool.

Seems you and me had very similar musical tastesBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 10:35 pm Along with John Mayall, Pink Floyd and Yes, Cream were de rigeur listening for me too, as a teenager.

RIP Ginger Baker
As part of Cream along with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce he helped form my musical taste in my teens. Now only Eric left. He was an argumentative and miserable sod but put him behind a huge set of drums and he was a master. This could be the end of the ten minute drum solo...….

Re: Delivery timescales
From what I'm hearing on this forum, it seems to me that something has changed at CW Towers at some point. Between December 2015 and January 2017 I ordered six watches From CW. Even though they were all ordered at busy sale times they all went through quickly and efficiently with despatch emails rec...
