Re: Thoroughly exceeded expectations

I've bought a lot of watches this year. Although in my defence I've also sold a lot, more than I bought so I guess that's progress of sorts in whittling down the collection. I don't really plan purchases, they tend to be spontaneous, opportunistic or both. The one that has stunned me this year was c...

Re: Day/date watch poll

I like nearly everything that Sinn produces and my only day/date watch is their 104, which I’m wearing today. Nevertheless, this implementation is not for me; if they’d put the day radially at 12 then I probably would’ve bought it by now. However, I really like the bezel layout which would be brilli...

Re: New Seiko LE

At least it has the 6R instead of the 4R. I’ve had an interesting chat with an experienced Seiko watchmaker about 6R movements and their timekeeping idiosyncrasies. His view was that the 4R/NH3x movements are much more reliable/consistent with regards timekeeping and much easier to regulate. The on...

Grant, yes I set a completely new notification, as to change a previously set custom time you have to slide the notification slider off and on again. I’ll be interested in seeing the last 90 day option for the charts. I’m currently using the YTD option which I find very informative. Adding a last 30...

Re: Twelve years on - what’s changed?

I’ve only been here for 5 or so years but have clearly seen major changes in both CW as a business and the range of their products. I was aware of CW for a few years before I actually became a customer. However, back then all I ever saw were a very wide selection of designs that did nothing for me s...

Re: WristCheck - Stif's mobile watchbox app project - Now live on iOS and Android!

When fixing the timezone/daylight saving issue that Tumor mentioned I set the app to use 'wall clock time' (i.e. device time) rather than absolute time (i.e. once set it remains 'fixed') - however I think when I create the notification request, I build a datetime object in a way that'll nudge it ou...

Re: Bronze Twelve coming?

I quite like the black dial. IMO it could be further improved by removing all the text and just having an embossed logo. The images, other than the main facing one?, seem to show a black coloured cap in place of the second hand? It would’ve been neat to use a ‘breather’ indicator there to show that ...

HMS Erebus was the ship of Sir John Franklin which disappeared in 1848 whilst exploring the North West passage.

The wreck was recently discovered and there’s a very good book by Michael Palin about the expedition and its aftermath.

You don’t need to spend a fortune on these. This is from WatchGecko, quick release and a secure folding clasp. Good finish, flexible and fairly inexpensive.

Re: WristCheck - Stif's mobile watchbox app project - Now live on iOS and Android!

I've noticed a problem with the timing of 'Daily Reminder' notifications. I have a custom reminder set for 19:05 and that works correctly for my home timezone, currently BST. I was in Italy last week (+ 1 hrs) where the notification was firing at 20:05. Upon return to the UK it went back to working ...

Re: How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?

Ran into a young guy in Southall yesterday wearing a white dial C60 300 on a bracelet. A very smart looking watch.
