Re: Strap of the Day

C65 Dartmouth on my own, handmade leather strap D0E0DC76-7046-48C0-B570-67AF2C1FC5C4.jpeg This strap uses Lyveden veg tanned leather for the upper (Elephant Grey colour) and was then lined with Italian Buttero leather. Lyveden is treated with a variety of oils and waxes after tanning and had a great...

Re: Just One Watch - Can I survive?

Ok, one week in and time for a progress report. This has been the only watch I’ve worn. It has gone with me to work, to the gym, various hobbies, dressy meals out, jogging, walks in the country, cafe lunches and in the shower. I have worn in on several different leather straps, it’s bracelet and a N...

Day 7, one full week. A131A319-E339-490E-BCCA-E9F35BA7A807.jpeg Just as much of a test of the strap as the Dartmouth this afternoon with a very sweaty stint in the gym. I totally forgot to bring a suitable strap along with me to swap out (I must get a wee pouch or something to keep a few straps, spr...

Re: CWL of the day

^^^ Thanks. In hindsight, I think this was another reason for me choosing a duplicate of a watch I already owned, but dare not risk endangering; if something happens to my “test” watch and it needs service/repair/selling then I have not really lost anything. This watch is being spared nothing. Ok, s...

Re: CWL of the day

Well, after a day of banging about in the workshop, this was going to be the acid test for the Dartmouth - an evening of radio controlled car racing :-) 77B54D40-6BED-43E7-93D5-008D7AF51A94.jpeg Lots of radio frequencies, power cables, battery chargers and electric motors. Will it cope with all this...

Re: Another question about servicing a watch

I’d follow manufacture advice. If they suggest a service every 3 years, or every 10 years then stick to that. They know what oils and other lubricants they have used when building the watch and know how long they will last. Even if the watch is not used daily, my understanding is that oils and lubri...

Re: C60 Trident Pro 600 Vintage

I used to own one of these in 38mm size. I loved the matte bezel finish, dial colour, brushed case and vintage lume - these made the watch so discrete and easy in the eye. I eventually sold it roughly three years ago. The non-COSC movement, although good, was just not consistently accurate enough fo...

Not a lot planned for today, just a pub lunch later and a stroll, so this combo should be ideal.

Back from my run, off for a stroll into town for coffee/lunch and the Dartmouth has gone back into the taupe colour leather strap I first wore with it; that one needs a bit more wearing to get some patina going… BCC54321-F9DF-49FE-9F98-1CC1E29FAB45.jpeg F5EAE0E8-5924-411C-B515-05D56708775A.jpeg 0BD7...

Dartmouth On Rubber Suggestions

Morning all. I think I need a rubber strap for my Dartmouth. So far, it has been great on various two-piece leather options, but getting ready for a jog this morning and having it on a single pass nylon presented a problem - all my winter sports kit (cycling and running) is long sleeve and has very ...

The Dartmouth is now on a nylon single pass strap; partly to be able to cope with the inevitable sweat and partly for a more secure attachment.
Keep well,

Re: White Sand Dune - 5 minutes on the wrist

I really love your first choice of strap, that is a real stunner and sets up the watch beautifully! I did exactly the same when my Dartmouth arrived - pop the standard supplied strap off (although it was definitely a decent quality so no worries there) and switch in one that was already broken in an...
