Re: Landing tomorrow…
Am I the only one that is beginning to feel that CW is becoming the next Hodinkee? Just an endless series of LE watches that sell out instantly only to be resold by flippers?

Re: Company Service Awards
I work for a public healthcare provider. For my 25 year anniversary I received an e-card (real ones are too expensive I guess) and a $25 credit to use in the online company store. If I wanted a 25 year pin, I had to buy it using my oh so generous credit.

Re: Why wouldn’t you wear this watch?
I wouldn't wear it because I may want to actually check the time at some point during the day.

Re: Leaving the forum after three and a half years
Really hoping you'll stick around Des. As others have said, you don't have to post a lot (or at all), or own a CW to fit in around here.
A love of watches and an interest in the brand brought all of us here, but it's the comradery that keeps us here.

Re: Omega James Bond 60th Anniversary Seamaster
Vintage blue wave dial, aluminum bezel, no date and METAS anti-magnetic coaxial movement. Size notwithstanding, it's basically the perfect Seamaster.
The gold version, on the other hand, made me throw up a little. Search it at your own peril, I won't post it here. It's too hideous.

Re: Louis Vuitton Tambour Carpe Diem Minute Repeater
The engineering is amazing. The dial does nothing for me. The skull back plate though, now that is fantastic!

Re: Request for constructive criticism for GPF Pure #2
Thanks for sharing. Your work is fantastic. As far as the hands are concerned, I agree these are too modern, and that cathedral hands would probably look good, but the first style that popped into my mind was a set of Breuget hands. For me they are THE classic watch hand that fits this style.

I assume your collection contains no more than one black dial watch then?biggus_richus wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 9:52 amCompletely different, yet you probably wouldn’t want to own both.

Re: Remind anyone of anything ?
I can see what the OP means, but given that the C65 "Super compressor" was "reverse engineered" then it's not exactly original in itself, is it? Also, not a Supercompressor, and lacking a rotating inner bezel. Entirely different case shape, with a completely different dial textu...

Re: New Bamford Land Rover collaboration
And here I thought Bamford just ruined Rolexes. I guess he designs watches as well. This one is rather uninspired and plain, to be sure.

Re: Birth year Seiko Lord Matic with Ukiyo-e dial
What a lovely find Lindsey. Regardless of the origin of the dial, it's a watch with a great story behind it. As I'm sure you know from your research, Lord Matic, was the second tier of Seiko watches, positioned just below Grand Seiko and King Seiko, and above Seiko 5, Actus and other lines. So as we...

Re: WatchGecko and CW collab?
I edited my post to reflect what I meant! I was referring to the image posted by Guy. Not the one I posted but I was super unclear in the way I worded it. Sorry! LOL. It's all clear now! I really don't think this collab is going to be just straps. The C65 (I can see it now!) in the first pic...
