Yeah, well I thought I was done after buying my Speedie last month and I was all set to consolidate and sell some watches.
Instead of which I managed to buy an Oris Propilot GMT today... Clearly I'm beyond redemption

Re: Favorite novel & why
Where to start. I devoured fiction earlier in life and particularly early/mid 20th century authors such as Orwell/Greene/Waugh/Hemingway/Steinbeck/Kerouac and still go back to these occasionally. However, in recent years I’ve tended towards more non-fiction reading. Nevertheless, I’ll pick three fic...

Re: Dial size as a % of case size
As a geek it should be of no surprise that I've been recording this type of data for some time. This is my current collection sorted by dial/case ratio in descending order. Clearly watches without rotating bezels score highest on relative dial area. https://i.postimg.cc/1RNR59xm/Screenshot-2023-07-2...

@timor54 Here's the end of the tool I mentioned. It's the correct flat end, as you noted. IMG_20230718_114149108_HDR~2.jpg This is the Oris tool which is 2.5mm. Re: Incoming ..
In passing, changing the bracelet by unscrewing a pin is a nice way of avoiding lug scratching, but it looks like it's also a real deterrent from regular strap changing. I've just ordered a black one like this orange one though, about £25 from AliX, compared with £250 for the genuine article. I was...

Re: Oyster Card vs Day Travel Pass?
Phone's can definitely be used too  , same charge / fare :D YEs just tap the card / phone, remember to always tap in and tap out. This definitely sounds like the way to go! Can you tell it’s been awhile since I’ve used public transport? Last time I was on a subway was the T in Boston, and ...

Re: Non CW of the Day
Honestly, I only went out to get a haircut. I really had no intention of going anywhere near watch shops  Anyway, my magpie brain when confronted with nice shiny things behaves completely irrationally and to cut a long story short I came home with this. https://i.postimg.cc/tJyNbH04/BF2-E21-F...

Also this: https://neal.fun/deep-sea/ for a view on what sea creatures you’ll find all the way down the pelagic zone.
I’ve only dived to 20-25m and you can certainly feel the pressure even then. A 600m dive watch is really only an ornament at the end of the day.

Re: CW 2 Watch Roll
Mine has arrived and I'm pleased with it. Decent quality soft leather and the stitching seems good with no missed pieces or loose threads. For some reason it also comes with a matching single card holder which also has the embossed CW logo. Here it is with a 39mm C63 on a bracelet, clasp undone, and...

Re: A new Tropical Trident tomorrow?
Maybe they were resting the concept with the original Atoll, and then the Sunrise. The cynic in me suspects it’s more likely a stock shifting exercise to use up a surplus of 40mm C60-600 cases and black sapphire bezel inserts. The C60-300 was clearly a success, probably to the detriment of C60-600 ...

Re: CW 2 Watch Roll
I’ve got a leather 4 watch roll which I like a lot but it’s more than I ever carry so is used mostly for putting watches in the safe. I end up using individual pod type holders which are OK if I’m only carrying one watch but less so for multiple watches. At £50 for what looks like a well thought out...
