Re: Bracelet: in need of.....

If you want it to look anything like new, then brushed has to be only way, unless you have the appetite to separate all the centre links and buff them individually.

A scouring pad and some elbow grease will make it look way better than it does now, if not “like new”.

Re: Christopher Ward C8 UTC Worldtimer review

Great review, top pictures. You write well, and the review tells a story, which adds depth, above and beyond the basics. The C8 UTC has tempted me in the past, and when they appear in the sales, i have struggled to resist. I am particularly on the lookout for a black cased watch (though I have a pre...

Re: Decisions...

Tudor has just increased their warranty period to 5 years. Does this apply to new purchases only? I have a BB GMT and it is a terrific piece. The way the main hour hand can be moved independently (rather than the GMT hand, per the ETA movement) is far more useful for the frequent traveler. However,...

Good idea, I obtained a Bergeon ball for screw back removal. Arrived today, job done in 5 mins.
Thanks

Glad to help. Doesn’t always work, but always worth a try - and no scratch risk either!

Re: C60 Trident Bronze Pro 600 / patina

Also, when reversing patination, I see that CW recommend cape cod cloths. I've seen that others mention lemon juice (submerge the watch and leave it?) or ketchup. Any links for those methods? I know I can Google for this stuff, but would like to hear from folk that have actually done this and how t...

Re: Ebay

I would be surprised if NN watches turned up as “BNIB” on eBay. I don’t like this kind of profiteering and would prefer these watches ended up in the hands of buyers who really want the item, but it’s a free world, and it can’t easily be stopped. Personally, I wouldn’t take the risk of buying to fli...

Re: Screw back watch case opener.

If the caseback isn’t too tight you may be able to open it with a squishy rubber ball or foam ball (like a stress ball). I’ve done it and it’s worth a try.

Re: Made in........

Top quality grass-fed beef direct from the farm with the UK’s largest herd of Devon Ruby cattle, located at Tilbrook, near Kimbolton / Huntingdon / Rushden. They take orders for specific cuts, on a 3-4 week cycle. Expensive but worth it, and quite a lot cheaper than those high-fallutin fancy butcher...

Re: Will it be third time lucky?

What a shame, and shocking QC. I assume it was the AD, rather than Bremont, who pay a huge attention to detail. I have an S301 and an S300 (wore them on Monday & Tuesday respectively), and I know that you know the quality of the Bremont product. Hopefully you haven’t lost faith completely.

Re: Should I buy a watch winder ?

I use winders. The conclusion when this topic has been discussed before tends to be that it’s a matter of choice and convenience. I like the convenience of a watch being more or less correct when I put it on. I recently took a trip with 3 watches and I rotated religiously each day, but the constant ...

Re: Where did it all start?

It all started for me with an advert I saw in an inflight magazine for the Bluebird. I don’t remember exactly when it was, but it caught my eye and set me on a path of research. I didn’t buy one in the end, but I kept an eye on the brand, and eventually bought a 43mm C60 GMT in white/black, quite cl...

Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward

We can all speculate on the reasons behind this but IMV this is a loss for the company. Chris was the charismatic face (and name, natch) of the company and I always felt he was the main personality of the management team. I wish him all the best, whatever he’s doing next, and I’m certainly intereste...

Re: Which watches have you worn this year?

it's ok to have both the S300 and S301 in a collection. Eerrrr..... I convinced myself that they have different personalities because one was on leather and the other on a bracelet. Then I put the S300 on leather..... If it’s worth having one, it’s worth having both. They are fabulous timepieces.
