Re: Sigh!! Oh dear, another two incoming....

A box crystal is simply one with a 90 degree (ish) angle between the vertical side and the horizontal top of the crystal - for example: These types of crystal always stand above the bezel. Ah, thanks Richard. Makes perfect sense now, I was thinking the WUS post meant extending wider than the bezel....

Re: Sigh!! Oh dear, another two incoming....

Where will it end, I ask myself. Firstly on Tuesday I crumbled and gave in while looking at the deal for the Zelos Mako Cobalt blue/Bronze on their website. I had to have one but will have to wait a few weeks before that arrives :( https://s26.postimg.cc/vn2kjhg3t/Zelos.jpg That Zelos Mako is sweet...

Re: considering a Trident C60,

Tridents are very well made, robust and have no-nonsense movements. The solid steel will live up to daily wear but will mark here and there, but as you say, watches are made to be worn. If you don’t mind some signs of use, I think you be very satisfied with the performance. One thing to add is that ...

Re: Feeling confused about luxury watches

At the moment I am leaning towards getting a Sinn 104. The simple clean German design speaks to me, and it is several thousand dollars less than some of the watches I saw yesterday. Unfortunately I can't see it in the flesh before buying, but that was the same way with my CW and Hamilton and I am e...

Re: C60 Bronze 38mm

Here's a real wrist shot for you as my 38mm C60 Bronze arrived this morning. http://www.h-spot.net/tmp/rlt/CW%20Trident%20Bronze%2038.jpg my favourite wet salt and dark soy sauce formula to effect my preferred patina anyway Looks really good. Interested to see how your home brew patination turns ou...

Re: Maen watches: Hudson automatic

The Jet Black looks sweet, though I find the half red hour hand a little odd. The LE Jet Black doesn’t have the red hour hand but doesn’t have the red marker at 12 or the red lollipop on the second hand either, both of which I like. The 2nd stretch goal adds some spice too. Getting very tempting now...

Re: Bronze Trident C60

Regarding the strap, is the standard strap too large for my size wrist? I would expect so - on the smallest hole it’s just a bit too loose on my 7 inch wrists. Also, there were some reports of the blue canvas strap fraying prematurely - search back through the posts in late November and December.

Re: Watch Refunded - some feedback

It is a bit to the point and impersonal. Maybe CW could add a little more in there just to say for example "We're sorry this watch wasn't suitable on this occasion but we hope to welcome you back as a customer any time another of our range suits you more" or similar to cover a few reasons for a ret...

Re: Bronze Trident C60

I wear mine about once a week. On my 7 inch wrists, sizewise it feels large, in the same way that the 38mm Trident feels small, but not overly so - for me the 2 ‘extremes’ set the limits of what I feel to be comfortable for a tool watch. It has a big, thick case, and you always knows it’s there when...

Re: Facebook Limited Edition

I say stuff the Facebook LE and lets do our own again. I know that there was problems with the last one with the amount of returns, but if we start the process now for a 2019 version it gives plenty of time to make sure that issues can be addressed etc..... I fully expect to get shot down for this ...

As a pointing device a finger makes more sense than a hand, really. Why not?
True, so how about “hour thumb” too?

Re: Why Do Flippers Flip?

I thought “flipping” was the act of buying something only for the purpose of selling it on for a quick profit- see the CW sales, followed immediately by a plethora of BNIB ebay listings. In the case of CW sales, that practice simply adds traffic to the struggling website and adds cost to the eventua...

Re: If it where not for this......

Why do they call them snowflake hands are they reffing to the to the square thing on the end of the minute finger. “Minute finger”? Is that a thing? For me, skeleton watches put me off (I like to see movements occasionally, so I appreciate glass backs) and that new, big red Hublot goes to the top o...

Re: New Sinn 556i B on unexpected bracelet

If the bracelet isn’t as advertised and you aren’t happy with it, then you have every right to return it. Ask them to explain themselves before you make your decision. Send the folks at Sinn an email - they should be able to clarify. They’re very friendly people and I’ve found them pleasant to deal ...

Re: Borealis Santa Cruz CuSn8 Automatic Diver Watch

A nice look. I like the numbers on the A more than the dots on the B. 300m proofing I get, but no bezel, and a handmade leather strap are both unusual for divers.

I would expect pre-patinated watches to be more uniform.
