Re: C60 Trident GMT or Diver???

For me, the GMT / Worldtimer complications are the most useful, as I travel a lot, so I have a personal preference for the GMT. But .... if you won’t ever use it, why spend the money on the extra function?

Looks alone, I would choose the GMT also.

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

Just to balance out the good vibes from another member’s cheery post..... ITV’s breakfast & morning weekday slots, which seem to be little more than a turgid line up of past-their-best hosts interviewing a dribble of self-important minor celebrities plugging their own shows which will be shown later...

Re: Best value watch brands under £500, £1.5k, £3k and £5k?

Assume you’re talking new prices rather than used.... I nominate Zelos for the first bracket. Some of their designs are heavy for my taste but the Mako is one of my favourite watches. The build quality is good, customer service is first class, and prices very competitive as well under the £500 mark....

Re: Bronze Magrette Waterman

Mine appears to have a ghost position at 2. I didn’t notice it because the winding stem is pretty short. As I was never looking for it I never noticed until I checked just now.

Mine is for sale, listed in SC, which you can see when you’ve reached 5 posts.

I’ve registered. Looks like last year was a success, so this year should be well worth the trip.

Re: Soliciting opinions

This is an often discussed topic, and there are 2 counter arguments. Critics say having the watches running all day every day increases wear, which is undoubtedly true. On the flip side, winding automatic watches isn’t great, and there are some cheaper ETA / Sellita movements which don’t stand up we...

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

(what size are your wrists  ) 7 inches, which I understand is slightly above average (only just though ). It was a tiny bit tight (I have a picture somewhere of the Trident motif from the caseback leaving an imprint on my wrist) so TBF, I could have done with adding a link an...

Re: Dirty Dozen watches

The Dirty Dozen history is an interesting one, and one which IMV makes little sense. Why go to 12 different manufacturers for the same spec watch.... unless you’re planning a challenge for future collectors? Ah, I see now...... The Timor field watch on KS looks quite faithful to the original, though...

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

Mick - and so the fun begins...! This is one of the best bits of getting a “new” watch. Does this strap I have in the box work? What would that one from xzy website look like? Enjoy! I don’t know if I told you this, but in my experience, CW bracelets can be a pain in the bum to take on and off unles...

Dirty Dozen watches

Inspired by another thread about the resurrected Timor field watch, I found this article about a service watch, commissioned by the British Army in 1945, eventually from 12 suppliers, some still thriving, some now disappeared or bought out. There’s a fascinating historical & horological story behind...

I’ve not heard much about the Dirty Dozen before, but spurred on by this topic, found a fascinating article. Conscious to avoid hijacking this thread, I’ll start a new thread.

Regarding the above comment on the day wheel. Mine is dual Deutsch/English and I assume that this is standard.
Interesting - maybe they have switched to bilingual day wheels on the newer models. I just checked the 103 St Sa (the model I have) and it shows English as a free option.

Re: Sinn 104 st sa A B E Canvas - thoughts

They have them on their website:

They usually offer an English day wheel as a free option, but it’s not showing, though probably worth asking.
