Re: C63 v C65

Think this boils down entirely to aesthetics. The C65 series spans both 3 hander sports watches and dive style and GMT’s. The product line is decidedly retro inspired, something g I have grown to love! The C63 is a thoroughly modern product line, very sharp lines, very shiny (lacquer dials etc) - no...

Re: Feeling Nostalgic

I agree with the OP, I’m glad it’s not just me, but I feel our opinion is in the vanishing minority.

It makes the CW back catalogue even more attractive to me and there are lots in the wild, so I’m happy to hunt down discontinued gems

Re: White Sand Dune - 5 minutes on the wrist

These photos have finally made me interested in this model, not enough to buy it but the white/cream dial does have the warm vintage-ness that I’m attracted to

Re: Misaligned bezels on CW divers

I’ve found CW to be particularly good with the bezel alignment. The best I’ve ever had hve been Casio, spot on every time. This may be an internet rumour but I believe Casio have some particularly automated production lines, which may be the answer. I expect Seiko, especially their cheaper models (t...

Re: 1 watch vs a collection

I had a similar, but opposite light bulb moment a couple of years ago MissF, after trying to amass a collection, realising I could still be a watch enthusiast without owning more than one. As silly and narcissistic as it sounds, I felt I could not voice my opinion in watch forums etc with any legiti...

Re: 1 watch vs a collection

Just wanted to share my view on this topic, it’s not a common one in the watch enthusiast realm, but may strike a cord with some. This can be a very personal decision, it certainly is for me. My psyche will not allow me to own more than one “main” watch. I have a C65 vintage mk2 that I adore and wea...

Re: C65 Dune

Love these 38mm cases, but give me a C65 vintage or mk1 sandhurst every time over these ones.

With each iteration these are becoming more homogeneous with the rest of the range, which means them less and less appealing to me.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 trident gmt

Having owned one of these in the past, I can vouch for their fantastic wearability, it’s really a beaut.

I sold in a fit of confusion, letting my fear of someone mistaking it for a 1655…how silly. This thread is making me want one again

Re: Christopher Ward C65 trident gmt

Hi Stewart, Watch valuations are not discussed on this forum. Instead there is the excellent resource “the archives” https://cwarchive.knack.com/cwarchive#home/ I would also recommend using the search function on eBay. If you search the model you are looking for, select sold items/completed items, t...

Re: Foggy dismay

Well I tentatively opened the bag of rice today from its cozy warm rice bed and….it worked! The fog is gone. Not sure I’d this is due the the temperature or the rice, but I’m glad there is no moisture visible. I think I’ll still ask CW to take a look and redo a pressure test, will have to see what t...

Re: Foggy dismay

I thought this thread was going to be about waking up real hungover after a bender to discover you’ve way overspent on a watch. That would cause quite the foggy dismay. Good luck with the rice  This cheered me up! Thankfully, or sadly depending on your outlook those days are behind me now

Re: Am I a ‘freak’…….

No it’s just proportional. You make watches that look ridiculous on my wrist look like the 38-40mm ones I wear! If you we’re to get a 55mm then it may look a little off. Selfishly, I like the size direction CW and others are going as the 2014 era when I first heard about CW watches even the dress wa...

Re: Foggy dismay

Just as an aside, it is recommended for watches that see water to get pressure tested every year. I have some friends that test their watches before every major dive trip. It is usually pretty cheap and worth the peace of mind. I take mine to a watchmaker that can test Rolex Deep Seas so he has the...

Re: Foggy dismay

I'm curious: you say the watch went swimming with you a few weeks ago: had the condensation just now appeared for the first time? The fogging appeared after a walk in the cold, but I’d taken a walk in the same conditions the previous day without the same effect (and I’m sure I’d have noticed. All i...
