Re: C65 GMT Worldtimer

Isn’t 2020 supposed to be the year of the chronograph or something? Where are the chronographs?

A Nice History of Military Watches

I just came across this fantastic video offering a history of the development of the military watch. It's from last October, so my apologies if it's been shared already.

Re: What’s time doing for you now?

With school now cancelled for the remainder of the year, one of my personal goals is to develop a daily routine. Otherwise I'll ballon up to 300 lbs and get NOTHING done around my house. If we are expected to start doing distance learning with our students (I still have no idea how that's going to s...

Re: Coronavirus

Something to lighten the mood a bit... Heard a Dr. on TV saying in this time of Coronavirus staying at home we should focus on inner peace. To achieve this we should always finish things we start and we all could use more calm in our lives. I looked through my house to find things i'd started and ha...

Re: Where have you travelled to today?

This has been a helluva day. Decided to end it with a little trip to Frankfurt, Kentucky.

Re: Coronavirus Weekly Check-In Thread - March 21

School has now officially been cancelled for the rest of the academic year, and I feel sick to my stomach (as both a teacher and a parent) about all the unknowns that come with this. Better safe than sorry of course, but still... This is certainly not how I'd like to see the year end. Very sad day i...

Re: Coronavirus Weekly Check-In Thread - March 21

Sounds tough Andrew. Is going to Maryland and delivering your virtual teaching from there not an option, or are you worried you'll need to visit the school from time to time for teaching materials etc? Perhaps your parents are in Virgina too. What keeps us in our respective states and apart from ea...

the Scottish highlands,
I recommend the isle of Islay, lovely at this time of year (or any time of year, really :) )
That’s a good suggestion!

Re: Coronavirus Weekly Check-In Thread - March 21

Rough weekend for me. For a complex set of reasons, my wife and I live in separate states - she in Maryland and me in Virginia. We spend Wednesdays and every other weekend together. Our fear is that this past weekend might be the last for awhile. We'll continue getting together until either state is...

Re: Forever watch...

I’ve been singing the praises of the C65 Trident Vintage since I joined this forum. It checks a great number of your boxes. Simple, elegant, and with a strap change, incredibly versatile. Mine is currently on a bracelet. I’ve got a preference for the older model with the crown guards, but that just ...

Re: Coronavirus

Best advice I've read so far was not to act like anyone you come in contact with is infected and act accordingly bu to act like YOU are infected and might infect anyone you come in contact with and act accordingly. It's time to be extra cautious. The one really sane voice over here said that if when...

Re: Modifying Your Watches

They won’t do it. Even if you’re returning a watch to have a damaged bezel replaced for example, they only do like for like. I have no personal experience with this and am only referencing comments from previous threads.

I’m sure someone with first hand knowledge will chime in.
