Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

Yes, from what I can see.

The SS version already on ebay @ £1699, along with the most excellent TK Maxx description including 'Chain Link Fastening' and somewhat iffy dimensions.

Re: Got stung on eBay

Nice watch Patrick, I noticed it sell the other day and had a hunch your incoming may well be this. Too small and light for me (I once had the Day/Date in Red/Black), but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Re: Would you buy one of these as the next Forum Limited Edition?

Nice to see it's happening, but given this is for enthusiasts and current (loyal) owners I think the prices are high and to an extent it's just another variation to CW and a slot in the production schedule. Yes it's a LE with up to 50 pieces made, but and I'm guessing here, pricing seems the same if...

Re: Would you buy a plug in electric car?

i call BS on 99% of the EV scare stories To be fair though, from what you've previously stated you haven't had a pure EV and have always had the back up of a petrol engine (PHEV). The BS you mention is most likely from EV owners who don't have a petrol or diesel backup to turn to when they've run o...

Re: Stolen watches

Agreed, shocking news - good to see you have the serial numbers. Whether it would make any difference to you, but I would be keeping an eye out for these at pawn brokers, ebay, gumtree etc as they are not your normal every day watches and I would imagine they will stand out - not sure what the next ...

Re: Incoming arrived today...

Good to see EJ handle Omega's with the same care as they do Seikos and Citizens. Typical gamble of Ernest Jones & H Samuel sale time stock.
I'm surprised it didn't come with stickers on the side to prevent something like this from happening.

Have you decided to keep or return?

Anyone else noticed the tech on the CW home page slider resembles TV property expert Phil Spencer!
They needed more technicians...

Re: Summer Sale 2019

With the introduction of GDPR regulation in May last year, CW need to get a handle on how they use customers data, otherwise they will end up in very hot water.

Oris Aquis, Oris Aquis, Oris Aquis, Oris Aquis, Oris Aquis.
In my defence I'm trying to reduce numbers as SC will confirm. :D

Re: Dealers, discounts and finance....

The dealers you mention are all part of Watches of Switzerland group (previously Aurum Holdings). https://www.thewosgroupplc.com/about-us/watches-of-switzerland I know when you see discounts and campaigns with Goldsmiths online, any interest free offers on discounted watches tend to be over a 2 year...

Re: Would you buy a plug in electric car?

Yes home chargers are available, but the public charging network is poor. Let's say typical range is currently below 200 miles so on longer journeys you need to charge from the public network which isnt great in the UK. My point was more public chargers are needed, that requires investment, but publ...

Re: Would you buy a plug in electric car?

Would only buy a pure electric car when the realistic range is 200 - 250 miles in all weathers and the charging infrastructure has sufficient capacity. Your desired range is already available, albeit expensive. A Tesla model 3 with the large battery has a 325 mile range. This should easily translat...

Re: Would you buy a plug in electric car?

Would only buy a pure electric car when the realistic range is 200 - 250 miles in all weathers and the charging infrastructure has sufficient capacity. We had a new Nissan Leaf from 2015-17 (less than £100pm on PCP with low deposit), great car but only at the right price and if it's a good fit for y...
