Re: I think I’ve hit a milestone

You’ve definitely taken it up a notch and your bank manager should be worried!

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Homage

I personally wouldn’t be spending $250 on a homage which is likely to be a much poorer quality product to the original.

I’d prefer to save a little more money and buy the real McCoy (McCoy is a more premium homage manufacturer [emoji1787]).

Interestingly, it’s also an anagram of “Chine”.

Whatever. :problem:
I thought that means dog in French Steve, albeit you are on the same canine lines.

Re: Proliferation of watch brands, Zero West Watches

^^^ Thanks for the mention! What does hold me back, aside from being unable to confirm my quality expectations, is that their watches tend to be large - 44mm with flat backs and my concern would be whether they will just wear too large on my 17cm wrist. They are interesting watches and judging only...

Re: The value of Provenance

The experts always advise not replacing dial, hands etc on vintage Rolex as it reduces the value so I get that. I’m not so convinced that barnacles on the case would give that additional authenticity and value...but then what do I know!

Re: Two-handers?

Interested in observations of those who have them. What I have found with a 4-hander is I hardly even notice it. Not like I can actually USE the 4th hand at present. In Australia OS travel is simply banned. Oz has a few time zones though does it not! Personally I do like a second hand so I doubt I ...

Re: Dartmouth black dial: screw down crown ?

I have the blue Dartmouth and it does not have a screw down crown. I am fairly certain that is a typo and that the black Dartmouth has the same crown arrangement, in fact all the C65 Trident divers I thought had push in crowns only. Hopefully an owner of a black one can confirm 100% for you. Sent fr...

Re: F1 2020 | 2021 Motorsport Thread

It was a crazy race. They do need to look at the safety car restart rules though, that was a scary accident when the midfield thought Bottas has gone....but he hadn't :problem:

As Neil says it is a homage to the Tudor Snowflake Sub and hence a great looking watch, I see it is all sold out now so I hope you got in there quick enough Chuck.

Re: What once was lost...

Lovely story and what a great watch, only exceeded by an even greater wife (you're a lucky man). That's an interesting version of the Speedy, definitely more wearable for the smaller wrist than the standard 42mm and also I like that it is subtly different and some extra complications, such as the da...

Re: contemplations for a smaller watch now resolved and pics

Great acquisition Paul, not a model I had noticed before but has a great dial with that grid effect and the applied blue numerals.

Is this now the perfect 4 (I think) collection, do you think you'll settle with these ones, at least for the foreseeable?

Re: Tribus Watches

Welcome back Richard  Which have you preordered? Thank you for the welcome. I have preordered a TRI-02 GMT COSC. I love the subtle 50s design clues. 5DA92F78-026E-4B87-BEEC-1DA2B9017852.jpeg That is definitely one of the better looking watches in the new Tribus range

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

^^^ I can imagine. I drove a hired Vauxhall Meriva 1.5D over the Col-du-Tourmalet in the Pyrenees once. Stalled it on several hairpins as I’d never driven a diesel before! That was scary. Didn’t realise they had no power under 2500rpm when the turbo spins up. Once I cottoned on, we were fine. Revve...
