I use the grey and burgundy pads from Cousins, and they work well. I think the technique might be a little wrong here. The cheap demagnetisers are only large coils on a former which are energised when the swich is closed. The unterminated laminated formers face upwards to the face of the machine meaning the magnetic field is strongest from the upper face of the box...

Not mine, my eldest's choice for his 18th birthday last week. We discussed mechanical vs quartz and further solar vs battery and arrived at this. Lovely detailing on the face. He has a good eye, but costly!

Ditto. I've naively ordered low-value items and been stung for duty & fees where the fixed fee is a considerable constituent of the overall cost. Some things can be worthwhile- especially those that are hard to source, but always expecting importing duties. I've not yet come across a UK equivalent.
