Re: WTB Watch winder motor

Verifying the motor's at fault would be pretty easy though- they appear to be just brushed DC motors. I'd look for continuity between the terminals of a few 10's of ohms. Putting a bench power supply across it (or a fresh PP3 9V battery) should make it spin OK. Nevertheless, these seem quite cheap h...

Re: Formex Essence COSC Chronometer

Just to draw a line under a line of debate which might be perceived as watch-knocking, my thoughts, although not worded well, meant to suggest that if Formex do well under a long-term commercial footing through a major watch retailer, the Kickstarter bidders (of which I was one) have got themselves ...

^^ Holy Cow! £1095 for the Essence Chronometer! There's some serious competition at that price point!

Re: CW 8 watch collectors case

Don't know about you guys, but while we're always really careful (to the point of paranoia perhaps) about placing our mechanical watches anywhere near magnets, I can't help feeling that there's something not quite right about a watch box with strong magnetic clasp. https://media.christopherward.co.u...

Re: C60 Trident Mk3 Bezel Rocking movement?

I've seen no play in the mk2 C60 600s I've owned. If it's new and you've not worn it, I think I'd rather not go though the hassle of trying to get it fixed or someone to suggest it's normal or within specification and just return it for a refund. Perhaps try to buy another before the voucher code ru...

^^^ Your bike looks in superb condition, Rich.
Thanks Richard. It’s in fine fettle for a 2005 but I’m afraid that’s mostly down to so few miles on the clock. Oh, and washing it to within an inch of its life each ride

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

Beautiful morning. Took a ride across the borders, down the Wye Valley and through Tintern. A road closure south of Tintern meant a welcome diversion across the tops of the valley to get back down to Chepstow before the bridge back over the Severn.

Re: Mid-life crisis, challenge, bucket-list or life-long dream?

Brilliant! Congrats Richard. I love my 1200GS but having had a loaner wasser-cooled 1200GS during a service a couple of years ago have always fancied one- the growl from the engine, the smooth power delivery and secure handling are just wonderful. The 1250 must be very similar with a bit more grunt....

Re: Is this really customer service?

I think I would have lost my patience long before this point.

Sorry to say this, and my experience of Customer Care has always been good, in this case I think I'd be persuing a small claims- they tend to get results.

Re: Sizing a bracelet

As noted above, many of the generic screw-style bracelet tools have push-ends which are too short to push the pin far enough through to totally disengage with the spring collar. The result is that some people then resort to pliers to pull the pin through- often bending, marking and ruining the pin i...

Re: Change in 60 Month Warranty Policy?

My other boxes are in the loft so not going to check them...
