Re: New Steinhart ceramic Green bezel

If this appears as a 39 I am going to try it - the flat case of the Steinharts make them too big for comfort @ 42mm but I think a smaller version would fit nicely. Paul, I can wear 42mm watches from most makes, but like you I found the 42mm Steinharts to be a little too long without the hint of a d...

I regret not buying the green bezel Trident during it's brief lifespan. I know it's an LV clone but at the money I could wear it as an '...

Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward

Obviously I have no greater insight (and probably a lot less) than others here, but I have been involved in companies that start off as micro business and then, relativity speaking, make it big. My experience is that the excitement and frisson of the early days gets replaced by the general day to da...

Re: Minis

56k on a car that is nearly 4 years old doesn't seem that bad to me - the funny thing that I have found with dealers is that when they are selling 'average' mileage is 12k / year but when you want to trade in then it is suddenly 10k per year! We sold our Cooper convertible with 89k on the clock priv...

Re: "Crown Sore"???

I have experienced this occasionally, and also while on holiday - probably due to the usual 'holiday effect' of increased levels of activity. I found that in the short term it is easily prevented by changing position but if it persists when you get home then a more padded headboard is the long term...

Re: Tag Heuer love?

I don't really understand the ambivalence towards Tag that seems to prevail in many watch circles, here being no exception. There seems to be a bit of inverted snobbery towards them whereby they are seen as the brand that people gravitate towards when they want to spend a quite significant amount on...

If only we had the snow here to put one of those to good use.........having said that we have had so much rain this year that a version that works on mud would be perfect!!

Cheers,

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

Latest addition to the 4 wheeled collection...... DSC_0698.JPG Seven years older than me and everything works - like me (just!) It will be put to use rolling, harrowing and topping the fields to save my ride on mower from premature death. I plan to gradually improve it to a level whereby I can take ...

Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

To Downer and Strapmeister, thank you. You are part of a fantastic group of volunteers who provide a great service of which I hope I never have the need! This was something that I aspired to do before my biking days were curtailed. Ironically this was due to compliance with the wishes of my (new at ...

Re: I bought a Rolex above rrp

Congratulations on buying yourself a lovely watch - one that is certainly on my sometime never wish list! As for what you paid for it.......your money, your choice on how to spend it and only you know the pleasure per pound return that you are experiencing. What we all have to acknowledge is that if...

Re: Fulfilling a Lifelong Ambition.......

Thanks for all the input - I am wavering between the two on almost a daily basis! In terms of driving dynamics the Exocet and the DBR1 homage should be near identical as they both take the same approach to the build: remove the old rusty MX5 body and replace with a stronger / lighter tubular chassis...

432e8092dcbf1e908d952083f26ad44e.jpg A further complication has now arisen with regard to my Exocet build - it's shown above. I am certain that some on here will know what car this is a homage to (I deliberately avoid the term replica as, side by side with the original, it clearly isn't) and is bui...

Number of CW watches I purchased Pre logo move =8 Number of CW watches I have purchased post logo move =0 Number of current models that I would consider purchasing but for the logo = 4 Now, I may not be typical, but I cannot see anyone being put off buying a watch because the logo is in the traditio...

Re: CS & 60/60 Test case.

So any plans to follow up on the shortcomings / lack of clarity over the warranty? I think if it were me I would be torn between : 1.Thinking life is too short to waste any more of it on trying to get some sense out of anyone at CW CS when operating from a distance. Their track record on recognising...
