Re: 'Nearly new'

I'm not sure that anyone here would have the definitive answer as to what constitutes "Nearly New". Perhaps if you made a quick telephone call to CW HQ you might find out and let the membership here know. scooter From what I understand others have been in touch with CW re this and the answers are c...

Steinhart also use Soprod Swiss movements. Each model has a definitive movement within.

'Nearly new'

Have noticed that across various threads members have been saying that watches that have been returned under the 60/60 then make up part of the 'nearly new' items at a sale event. This would make sense but from what I recall reading, a 'nearly new' item is one that has previously been used for marke...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

Well, when my colleague contacted them, purely for interest, to enquire what movement he had in his C60 (based on the serial number of his watch) he was told they would not know that. In his case he returned the watch because, in his eyes, as he was spending £600 he felt that such nonchalence/ignor...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

...Whilst I actually agree that CW should know what is in each watch it is from a purely business perspective. It must be extremely hard to look at returns/reliability etc if they do not know what is powering a watch. Maybe they do know and just don't feel that we need to! ... My guess is that CW o...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

I and others have made their reasons clear throughout this thread, and yes, I have been in and heard a discussion where such a conversation with such a question has been asked/said/heard. As has been said, it's a bit unprofessional if a premium brand company who sells and supplies the watches can n...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

Mike France, in his recent article, said that view/comments, both good and bad, especially from the forum, help the brand. This is a suggestion that I think should help the brand ..constructive criticism is good, surely. I am a big fan of the brand ..there are several things that really nark me (and...

Re: In Conversation With Mike France, Co-Founder, CWL

Or, which historical piece of transport paraphernalia will it contain a few molecules of? My guess is part of a heat shield from the International Space Station ... acting as a heat source to help provide pseudo thermo/solar power to the ETA movement contained within ..unless of course it's a Selli...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

I have sat, poised to vote and post several times over the last few days but something has always cropped up. A relaxing Sunday afternoon provides the chance to spend a little time tickling the brain cells in response to horological musings, particularly one that has attracted a good level of debat...

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

The would butcher the 60/60, you'd have all these people returning or requesting to have a watch with a movement of they feel is "better". I can understand why people would want to but also understand why CWL can't and wont do it. Plus the fact that ETA movements will be a thing of the past anyway....

Re: Poll: Chr.Ward movements .. being more specific?

Voted Yes. In the same way as I'd want to know, out of interest, where my apples are from, who made the gearbox in my car, and who are underwriting my insurance policy. Does it change the performance, quality or value of the product?- no, not really, but then I'm not the sort of person who buys a p...
