Re: Non-CW of the Day

I've never seen a DeVille on a Nato before. Surprisingly, I like it. I had a chuckle at having it regulated because it's running at +10. I'd be happy if ANY of my auto's ran at +/-10! On the other hand, it is a certified chronometer...

Re: Let's sort this out, please

Let me start by saying that I won't be purchasing an FLE for various reasons, the main one being size. 43mm is bigger than I would like, and that is purely personal preference. Having said that, let's look at what is being offered here. This watch is truly unique within the CW range. The only hand-w...

Re: Watch you want

The Zenith Elite is truly a thing of beauty. A friend received a black dial version last fall as a wedding gift from his new bride. Definitely a keeper (the watch and the bride  ).

Re: Seiko 5 'Fathoms'.....

Great watch Andy. I really like the looks of the bezel. This is not good... I'm still waiting on delivery of my first seiko diver (a used SKX007), and now I'm interested in another one. Hmmm, this or an orange diver?

Re: New C7 Rapide WITH NATO STRAPS!!

Where did you order the blue stripe strap from? I've been looking for one for another watch. The Bond strap is easy to find, blue is surprisingly hard.

Re: Would you like to see a NATO option for your CW?

I don't think that Nato's have a broad enough appeal to be offered as a factory option. I would, however, like to see Chris offer a 'Special Edition', in a new presentation box with 2 straps. I think a diver offered with a bracelet and rubber strap would be a nice set, for example. Can someone say F...

Re: In the words of Britany Spears "Oops!...I did it again"

Nice looking watch. Just different enough to not be a direct homage, but rather submariner inspired. I have an Alpha green bezel submariner homage. I really like the black and green colour combination. It gets lots of wrist time, as it was cheap enough to be a beater / work watch, although I would p...

Congrats on the Oris Krushy. I'm sorry I missed it, but glad it found a good home. I'm looking forward to you finding out if it's a '66.

Re: Marvin Watches - New E-Shop

So let me get this straight. The brand has only existed since 1941, and stopped operations sometime in the 1970's. The current owners bought the name in 2007, and started a new company using an old name. The current owners have no connection to the original company, and the watches are all new desig...

Re: Helson 3,500m diver!!!!

The only thing the watch has going for it is the bronze bezel. The rest of the watch should be binned. I'm not a Rolex fanboy, but how come they can make the DeepSea Sea-Dweller resistant to 3900m without looking like the dogs breakfast, and this thing looks like it was designed by the East German m...

Re: Hand winding "feel"

I just took my C5A and Hamilton Khaki Field out of the box and wound them. Two very similar pieces for comparison. They actually have a similar feel, although not the same, and they sound different when wound. You dind't say if your C60 is a GMT or not. If it isn't then the movements are different, ...

Re: New Arrivals Cool Wall

I voted cool. It would be Sub-Zero if it was a decorated auto with a display back, and a ceramic or clear-coated bezel to help protect the notoriously delicate C70 bezel. This and the DBR1 are the only C70's that really work for me. This wins at least in part because it doesn't have the giant 3 and 9.

Re: Marvin Watches - New E-Shop

Nice pieces, but not even close to the prices of CW. For the same money as one of the Marvin Chronos (USD$1860) I can get a C9 Chrono, and a C60 GMT on steel, with $20 left to cover shipping. Hmm, when I put it that way, I can almost justify the C9 and C60 to myself. To bad the better half is not so...

Re: C9 Harrison GMT (w/ aftermarket SS bracelet)

I have to agree that the leather works better. The bracelet picks up the silver from the 24 hour track nicely, but doesn't work for me with the polished case. Maybe a polished/brushed bracelet, a la C3, would work better. Nice watch, wear it in good health. Make sure you remove the protective sticke...
