Re: Watchroll update

Thanks Scooter Hi Asqwerth - very much alive! Paul - agreed, be aware that there are 4 ebay sites that watchcount.com doesn't appear to cover: Canada - french Hong Kong Poland Motors (probably not an issue!) Having said that, you would only have missed 2 sales in the last 5 years from those sites :)...

Re: Watchroll update

Hello again Akirk. It's unbelieved but that item was sold by a friend of mine. So I'm sure of all... He put the auction from Italy into eBay.uk in £ GB pounds and sold item for 749.99 £ GB pounds = 868 euro, at first buyer. It's enough to see the seller ended auctions to see it. So I don't understa...

Re: Watchroll update

Hi Yuri, thank you for looking and commenting... we use the data fed to us by the ebay API - which is not always the same that you see looking at ebay - especially if an offer is made on an item, ebay can show the original selling price, but we get the actual purchased price... for this item, the ap...

Watchroll update

A brief post to note that we have recently updated the watchroll website: http://www.watchroll.com For those who don't know it, this website was set up c. 4 years ago (but has data for 5 nearly 6 years) as the result of a conversation on this forum about the effort needed to record ebay sales in the...

Re: Re-Branding and new models

Interesting to get Loupe through the door - spot the article on re-branding - read it and have no clue by the end of it what the actual rebrand consists of... have to guess what the new logo looks like / what the new 'pattern' might be... which pretty much sums up the lack of substance! Typical desi...

Re: Why people sell watches...?

I think you are right - lots of reasons... however a lot can depend on you as a person - are you someone who likes variety in other areas, or are you content (e.g. do you just buy the new version of the same car / the same but newer clothes / etc.) if so then you are probably right to consider that ...

Re: C5 Squared Anyone got one yet

Alasdair owns one and has some very good things to say about it. The watch has been favorably reviewed by several of the popular watch blogs. If you get one please post you comments. It has pretty much been on my wrist since getting it - on there now :) I think it is elegant / simple / very good va...

Re: It was nice while it lasted on tz-uk...

It is worth remembering that a warranty is a manufacturer contract with its purchaser - usually non-assignable, meaning that it is not valid for a subsequent person who buys the item second-hand from the first purchaser... this is totally separate to and different from consumer rights... therefore a...

I can understand though, from his perspective, that he has received a watch for a warranty repair, in circumstances that have occurred previously (sent in after a recent second hand purchase), on which there was 'no fault found'; and thus feels somewhat peeved at the unprofitable use of his time. b...

Re: Disappointing profiteering on eBay

AVO, I do understand your perspective... however in that example you mention that he sold it for c. RRP - so the issue there was not that he bought it and resold it -but that someone else was happy to pay more for the watch... there are no cheap slurs here, but the OP calls this profiteering, others...

Re: CW promotional email distribution question?

I don't know the quantity of addresses to which CWL send the emails - but that will be a determining factor... Most systems which send out bulk emails have a throttling formula - so we manage mailing lists automated through the Mandrill API (mailchimp's back-end) and when you first start with an acc...

Re: Disappointing profiteering on eBay

No need to be so high and mighty about this (that's to Akirk). It's quite simple, what hacks off some members is the thought of other members taking advantage of the sale with the specific intent of immediately flogging it elsewhere to make a profit. We already know of one member who informed us he...

brown band = casual / black band = formal, watch (square & round) works well in both settings
