Re: Adjusting the 2824-2 >20 sec/day
I just finished making an adjustment to my watch and just out of curiosity decided to visit this forum to see the post that I made a few years ago. I was shocked to see that the post has received over 21,000 views! Amazing that so many people find adjusting their own watches such an interesting topi...

Re: Adjusting the 2824-2 >20 sec/day
My C5 Aviator is running at almost 2 minutes fast per day :( , but I haven't been wearing it regularly so it may need some time to settle down. A watch that is running this fast is clearly out of the specified range and should be returned to CWL for adjustment since I really doubt that it would set...

Re: Adjusting the 2824-2 >20 sec/day
*** UPDATE *** It's only been three weeks since I made the adjustment but daylight saving time has forced me to stop the watch and change the time, so here is my early update. After three weeks, the watch is +3 seconds off. An average of +1 second per week. I am truly amazed at this level of accurac...

Re: Adjusting the 2824-2 >20 sec/day
Awesome post, thanks for sharing the information. One question, can you clarify which direction to move the coarse adjustment arm? I am not sure what you mean by "add time" and "reduce time". Can you specify in terms of making the watch faster or slower? Which way do you move it...

Adjusting the 2824-2 >20 sec/day
It's been a while since I've last posted here but thought I would share my experiences with adjusting the accuracy of a C6LE that was running >20 seconds day fast. This article is written with the auto watch newbie in mind, which I am. Apologies to the experienced WIS' here who may feel that the con...

Re: ISOCHRONISM
I have to agree with UB on the manual winding of autos. There is a new C5 instruction manual on the website under the heading "Manuals". On page 8, Chris says "To re-power the watch after a period of non-use, simply unscrew the crown and wind in approximately 20 revolutions". The...

Re: Kingfisher LE problem
On the otherhand mine will probably be the only Kingfisher LE with a white date dial. Pretty sure LE 51-100 all have white date dials (my #67 has a white dial), so yours will not be a one-off. Since yours is changing to white, there will be 49 LE's with black date dials and 51 with white date dials...

Re: Markus Ruby
Many watches/clocks that use roman numerals use IIII instead of IV for various reasons, one of which is to provide a better visual balance for the VIII on the left side of the face. Other reasons can be found here http://elginwatches.org/help/roman_IIII.htmlK.Dos wrote: the roman numeral 4 is wrong.

Re: Kingfisher LE problem
Here's a detailed technical description of the differences between the 7s26 and 7s36. The 36 has 2 more jewels, but thats pretty well it. The 7s36 is still non-hacking/non manual-winding.

Re: C6 steel bracelet doesn't like chlorine
There is a matte finish to the bracelet which could be deeper to last longer If the finish is too rough, you could use it a nailfile . Thanks for the clarification, Yoda. Are you saying that you think the matte finish of the C6 bracelet is too soft and susceptible to rub marks? There were only two ...

Re: C6 steel bracelet doesn't like chlorine
Update from Wera: The manufacturer has tested 4 different CWL cases and bracelets in pool water (after 15 minutes and 6 hours) but found that none reacted. They think my case is "odd". When I receive the replacement bracelet, I will go into the same pool to see if anything happens. If no, ...

Re: Can any of you fix my watch?
A very similar thing happened on my ESQ watch about 1 year ago - the 11 o'clock marker came off and rattled about inside the face, interfering with the second hand. I brought it to a small watch repair shop and they just put a small dab of glue to put the marker back. Hasn't come off since. The cost...

Re: C6 steel bracelet doesn't like chlorine
Just realised where you live. They dont use chlorine in that country do they? It's another set of chemicals. When I was in Toronto there was no chlorine in the water. I'm pretty sure chlorine is used in the water system in Vancouver since I can smell it from the taps. As for the pool, I assumed it ...
