Re: Why?
A good question Kip and I think the answer is actually quite straightforward. There are two types of watch enthusiast: 1) Those that appreciate the mechanisms, the engineering and the innovation; and 2) Those who either don't care about the above or who pay lip service to the above - but actually se...

Re: New Tudor Pelagos FXD
I like it. Fixed 'spring bars' is bold. But no bolder than Oris (or many others) with their integrated bracelets.

Re: FLE #8 Design Vote
I do think that a rerun of the vote of the top 5 or whatever would produce different results. Steve and Kip are of course correct in that it should not produce different results – but I think it would because when faced with the reality of there being no FLE at all there would be a few people who we...

Re: Modded Speedy - Mitsukoshi yes or no?
Something to keep in mind if resale value is your issue - make sure you get the original dial and hands in the deal.
When you decide to sell - have a watchmaker change the speedy back into the 'original' and sell it. You can then sell the Mitsukoshi dial and hands separately.

Re: Modded Speedy - Mitsukoshi yes or no?
It isn't a Frankenwatch imo. It is a modded watch. There is nothing wrong with modding watches.
So long as you are always upfront about the fact that it has been modded then there's no issue whatsoever.

Re: FLE #8 Design Vote
Looks like I am going to have to bow out. :( The blue case does nothing for me. All the best though and hope you all manage to take this through to completion. Can I offer sincere thanks to the photoshop guys for all their work on this and to Kip/the mods for getting it all up and running  ...

Could we have the blue Hombre dial on the Dartmouth? Christopher Ward logo at 12 Indented or applied twin flags at 6 (not sure if it has to be one or the other on the Hombre) Keep hour and minute markers as they are on the standard model? IF THE HOMBRE DIAL CAN ONLY BE USED ON A TRIDENT PLEASE ACCEP...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Dartmouth GMT in vintage blue. A GMT movement instead of a chronometer certified three-hand movement should keep the price pretty much the same. http://horology.world/files/attachments/monthly_2019_10/dartmouth-gmt.jpg.4af7c4af0dc2fd4a2fe187dedad4f71b.jpg Frank I think some wee just come out. a GMT...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
When you look at all the different C65 models, they look all the same with just mix-and-match dials, hands, bezels and straps/bracelets. And that makes sense from a business perspective. Just make a new bezel insert, new dial and hands and boom... you have a new watch model. Doesn't cost anything e...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
I wonder what Nordwolf’s would look like with numbers rather than batons (apart from big triangle).
Or even a California dial

Re: FLE #8 design submissions
Can I revise my design idea to: Datmouth dark grey/charcoal face and bezel applied Christopher Ward logo at 12 (or just printed if applied causes difficulties with price). Can this be in black? White is fine if not. Black second hand. white lume Now don't shoot me here (because I think this still f...
