Re: Fears collaboration

No, that's a limited edition watch to raise money for the Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers. https://britishwatchmakers.com/open-dial/fears-and-chris-ward/ It seems to me that many watches created to make money for the 'Alliance', will by default, be of benefit to the Swiss watch industry ...

Re: Fears collaboration

I do like that Fears. I just had to find a review, as I didn't understand it. I thought the number at the top was a date, and now I see it's the hour, which I presume only goes up to 12, as the review didn't go past 12. Anyway, I like the watch, but not £4000 worth of liking. Maybe it's the colour ...

Re: Fears collaboration

There have been watches sold on by now though. But in the early days this was true.

Re: Fears collaboration

^^ It doesn’t sound as though membership means you’ll get one, merely that you’ll be eligible. There could be a feeding frenzy unless I’m reading it incorrectly. That’s right. It certainly won’t guarantee being able to purchase. Perhaps that’s a big part of it - the Alliance gets lots more membersh...

Re: Fears collaboration

If you’re paying £4k for a watch, the additional £55 to become a member doesn’t seem too bad.

Re: Spinnaker Boettger

I had this in for review - which is now up on Worn&Wound if you’re interested. It’s a homage to the Sinn 809 which has indices on the underside of the crystal. The Spinnaker’s not a bad watch - especially if you can preorder with that discount code. Just a little chunky, and I’m not loving the h...

Re: Anyone into G-Shocks?

Have one. A DWD5500.

Thought I'd hate wearing a G-Shock, but they're just so comfortable and convenient.

Had this one in for review (my review is up on Worn & Wound).

Very nicely made watch, and great on the wrist too.

Re: Rolex Milgauss - anyone own one - opinions

I have a black dial non-GV. Only picked it up recently after wanting one for years. Originally I thought I wanted a Z-Blue but after looking at it for years and trying it on countless times I eventually decided the blue was just a bit too blue. The only negatives (which I don't really mind) are: Scr...

I'll be there. Not quite sure what to expect after last year when it seemed half empty. I wonder what changes Hearst will bring.

Re: REVIEW: The Fugue Chronostase - A Clever Take On Modular

So the Fugue really isn’t pushing a new concept then is it? No, but to be fair I did say very early in the review “Although not entirely revolutionary...” What is does have going for it is that it comes with a second case that can be switched out, just like many people switch straps. From what I ca...
