Re: White speedie or fois
I don’t get it. They are two flavours of the same watch. Isn’t this down to your own personal preference than that of others? Is it about resale? I’m curious. Even value for money doesn’t wash since value is a personal thing in decisions as these. I’d go for the white since it would be different fro...

Re: Speedmaster Dilemma
Hmmm. I prefer the white one since it's easier to read and as @atnits mentioned, the splash of red is nice.

Re: Refining a watch collection
I haven't yet decided on what's the 'right number' of watches for me. However, I suspect it will be determined by the number of watches that I would really wear. I think there is a point where having too many leads to the neglect of some. On this basis, 10 will likely turn out to be my limit althoug...

Re: I'm just cheap..
That’s a nice watch. The hardening coat for the titanium is a plus. Reminds me of the Traska brand. Similarly priced watches.

Re: Selita SW300 in standard Sealander or Trident
The 40mm C60 Trident 300 is £950 while the 40 mm C60 Trident 300 GMT is £1185. That’s a £235 difference. Not too bad. The case doesn’t need to be slimmer. The GMT version is actually slightly thicker.
I much prefer the sw300 movement.

Re: New Twelve stopped working after a month
Shaking sounds awkward to me. Holding the watch vertically in the hand and then rotating your wrist back and forth will turn the rotor back and forth. I typically do a back and forth (180x180 degrees) about 50 times to get things going. I don't often manually wind. One of mine could well have a spin...

Nice strap.
The crystal for the watch is quite something. A lot of protrusion.

Re: Watches you love but that aren't right for you
So, at some point today, I realized that the watch that fits this category the best for me right now is actually the Bel Canto. I love this watch. I love what it represents for my favorite watch brand and for its hopefully continued success, and I respect it massively as an accomplishment for the p...

Re: Divers in the context of your collection?
I do like tool watches but I do not dive. I prefer dressier watches and I disfavor divers, particularly. Yet I have many more divers than I expected. They’re nice, and certainly tool-ish, and I consequently they sneak in when I least expect them. About 1 in 5 of my watches are dive watches. So much...

Re: Watches you love but that aren't right for you
One that comes immediately to mind is the Rolex Explorer 36mm. I love the look of the thing, and always wanted one. I got myself on to a local ADs waiting list. About 3 months later, I got a call that one was available. I couldn’t bring myself to pick it up without first discussing with my wife. She...
