Re: Wimbledon 2022 Thread
Henley-on-Thames is not far from CW in Maidenhead and The Regatta starts on 27 June and finishes on 2 July (Wimbledon starts 3 July). The Regatta is a great way to see Brits at their extremes of poshness and lunacy plus the racing is excellent.Tickets go on sale in April I think. I'll try to find s...

Re: Wimbledon 2022 Thread
Oxford is well worth a day (or two). A lot of the colleges are open in the afternoon; some (usually the richer ones - go figure) charge silly money, but some of the smaller medieval colleges are very pretty and still free to visit. You can visit the Sheldonian Theatre (a Christopher Wren masterpiec...

Re: Wimbledon 2022 Thread
Wimbledon: I am pretty sure you would need to apply for seats well in advance. There is a ballot for seats. You can join queues to get daily ground entry, but I believe they are long. If money isn't too much of an issue, you can queue jump with hospitality packages, or buy from ticket agencies. Wim...

Re: Wimbledon 2022 Thread
Not sure if I should respond to this thread, or start a new one titled "Wimbledon 2023" -- admins, please feel free to adjust as necessary. Anyway, there's a chance my wife and I will be heading across the pond during Wimbledon this coming summer -- Wimbledon won't be the only reason, but ...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
And, in addition to the Fears Brunswick (see earlier post), I'm also loving the Vertex M-100A. Similar story behind the brand to Fears, too -- both companies rekindled by descendants of the original founders. Love the fact that Vertex was also the only British-made watch out of the original Dirty Do...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
The thread about the Fears/CW collaboration has put that brand on my radar. Now the Brunswick is stuck in my head as a potential retirement watch! I like everything about it and the heritage associated with the company. 7B715615-550C-4571-97A5-EA4E090E8222.jpeg Totally agree, although I'd choose th...

Re: Sealander Hunter Green Ombre Strap Options
The green canvas strap from CW is literally made for this watch, and it's hard to beat! pic1.jpegpic 2.jpeg 7560022D-4ACD-445D-880B-454A8BFCE3F2.jpeg Yeah, I have the green canvas as well, and for some reason, it's never felt right to me. It's not subtle or sophisticated enough for the dial to my e...

Sealander Hunter Green Ombre Strap Options
I thought I saw a post recently asking for strap options for the Sealander Hunter Green Ombre dial, but now I can't seem to find that thread. Anyway, here are two straps that I think work well. One is a dark brown Horween leather, the other is a hybrid sailcloth and rubber green strap from The Strap...

Here's a shot of my 40mm in white. Thankfully, mine seems to look spot on. So I don't think it's a global problem, based on a very small sample size. . .

Re: CW's Bronze Bracelets
I did see and handle the Sandhurst bronze bracelet at Windup in New York last fall, and -- at least at that point -- the entire bracelet was bronze, including the underside. I didn't get one, so I can't speak to how it performs in real life, but that did surprise me a bit. I thought that bronze brac...

Re: C65 Dune
there are some nice features, in particular the raised twin-flags logo. which feels several years too late, i think many of us said from the moment we saw the twin flags mark that it should be the primary marker at 12, it just took years for CW to see the light. gotta wonder if the timing of chris ...
