Re: CW C1 Moonglow

I adore it. It’s beautiful in my eyes. I slightly lost interest in watches for a while, having been seduced by the devil in the Apple Watch, but putting a ‘normal’ watch back on for various reasons made me check out the CW website for the first time in a while and this was the first thing I saw. Gor...

Re: The Pocket Watch Gallery

Not strictly speaking a pocket watch as such.... I found this squirreled away in a small antiques shop last year, and I can't find a lot online about it.....! I know it's a speed measuring stopwatch, and from what i can find it was made by Elgin (?) in around 1920. If anyone more knowledgable than m...

Re: What do you time?

I use chrono functions/ bezel (depending on what watch I'm wearing!) to time a huge amount of stuff at work: - breaks - scenes - scene changes - sections of shows in rehearsals - lighting/ sound cue timings for programming automated sequences - pre-show countdowns - shows themselves - intervals in s...

The chrono version is tempting me more than a CW watch has in a long time...!

Re: General Discussion - 2015 FLE

I've not been around much over the past few months, so it was a lovely surprise to find a 2015 FLE was underway.

Some absolutely cracking designs around, thanks everyone, will be interesting to see the results!

Re: Big reveal

As far as I can glean the new company is still incorporated in the UK, and is a British registered company. It just happens to have its manufacturing and movement design arm in Switzerland.

Re: Will you be purchasing the new Harrison C9 anniversary?

I love it, but other things demand money at the moment, so can't justify spending that amount on a watch, however lovely it is.

That said, I think the merger is an excellent step forward, and promises a bright and interesting future....

Re: Emerald Time

I use an iPhone app called 'watch tracker.' Great little app - has the ability to use atomic clock sync for setting, and can do 'timing runs' with graphs showing how much a given watch is gaining or losing, and at what rate.

Re: C10 FLE Collected :-)

Thanks everyone - yes, I'm not really that far from CW Towers, and as I'm now away with work for a week and a bit having it posted would have involved a long wait ;-) Congratulations Pip! Which strap did you decide to go with? I went for the twin roll - while I prefer tan to black, I'm not a fan of ...

Fabulous watch, congratulations! Not one that's on my list I don't think, but I can appreciate the beauty of it, both aesthetically and technically - enjoy it!

C10 FLE Collected :-)

A little trip to the hallowed turf of No.1 Park Street today to pick up #028 :-) Made to feel very welcome, and it was a pleasure to meet Wera - friendly as well as terrifyingly efficient! The watch is lovely, it really is very elegant to my eyes, though I find it does wear slightly bigger than I ex...

Re: Mondaine Stop 2 Go

Only just spotted these were back! And in Googling reviews for them came across this thread..... I've always been a fan of Mondaine - I just love the dial design, and also railway 'heritage.' There's plenty of marine watches, aviator watches, dive watches etc, but very few (Mondaine and Ball excepte...
