Re: Let's hear it for the Royal Mail/Parcel Force

It's a strike, the inconvenience is surely the point. I'm awaiting a document in the post that's currently stopping me from taking ownership of a new car, but I'm in full support of the workers.

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement

Absolutely stunning, well done to all involved! I'm going to think long and hard about this one - January is my birthday and I was hoping to add another watch to the collection (although may hold off and treat myself to a new laptop this year - I could do with a wee bit more power and space...), and...

Re: WristCheck - Stif's mobile watchbox app project - Now live on iOS and Android!

Eep! If you do a backup how big is the watch box file? I wouldn't expect it ever to get 'too big', but it does load into memory on start up. For me the app loads fairly quickly but the ads take ages (which for most is probably a good thing as I expect loads of people never see them  ) Did the b...

Re: Should they just bite the bullet and.......

It's not without precedent - Kentucky Fried Chicken became KFC, Starbucks was originally Starbucks Coffee, Snickers used to be called Marathon in the UK! I'm one of those awful people that was initially put off by the brand name 'Christopher Ward' - not because I don't want another mans name on my w...

Re: Company Service Awards

I got a £250 voucher for my 10 year long service award, paid for half of a new dishwasher, no watches :problem: What use is half a dishwasher? Nice to be offered something though. I've yet to stay in one place as long as 10 years, but my wife got something similar (£150 or £200 in vouchers or there...

Re: Leaving the forum after three and a half years

Really sad to hear you're leaving Des, in my short time here you've stood out as one of the stars of the place. I can't imagine the impact your arthritis must have on you, but hope you and your doctors are able to get it under control to offer some relief.

Best wishes for the future.

Re: WristCheck - Stif's mobile watchbox app project - Now live on iOS and Android!

Awesome, glad you're both enjoying it and finding new uses for it! I've been really up to my eyes at work the past few weeks so v1.4 is running behind a little, but hoping to add some additional sorting options into v1.5 - possibly also price stats. Good shout on make Vs make + model options, now th...

Re: Maen Hudson 38 GMT

Looks like the GMT is using a Soprod. . I've got a Soprod in my Tribus TRI-03 and it's been flawless - buttery smooth to wind and keeps excellent time (although the Tribus was a COSC spec one) - I was actually quite pleased when I saw that on the spec sheet of the Maen. I'll take a look at those vi...

Re: Maen Hudson 38 GMT

That's great to hear - the Skymaster is a lovely looking piece too! Most of my collection is currently in the 39-41mm range, but I'm not averse to something a little smaller.

Maen Hudson 38 GMT

Does anyone have any experience with the microbrand Maen? I've heard good things about them and really like the look of their collection - they have a nice retro feel to their design, enhanced by their smaller sizes. I've been on their mailing list for a while and see that they're gearing up to rele...
