Re: A bit of blue

Of the options listed, I would recommend "your friend" goes for the Dartmouth. It wears smaller than its dimensions (which are actually 42mm for bezel as it has a slightly wider bezel than the regular C65s) so that shouldn't be a problem. Whisper this quietly, but I find the regular C60 Mk3s a littl...

Now I'm confused! There are 4 tittles (dots on the letter i) and 2 full stops, aren't there? :?:

Re: Word of the Week (month, day, hour, whatever)

Can I offer a Welsh word, which is also used when speaking English, which makes it a form of what's called Wenglish in Wales: Cwtch A form of tight hug or cuddle, often done side by side on a sofa. "I'm in need of a big cwtch" or "You look like you need a cwtch." Also proven to have medicinal benefi...

Re: First World Barton Strap "Problems" - NOT!

Watch collecting is all in the details!

As well as getting a new black & orange strap, the important thing is to also buy a new watch to match the redundant black & red strap.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Those two are limited edition, so probably slightly more than the normal colour dials. Chap on TZ-UK recently did a great review of his blue dial on bracelet model. I think they are about £11k on a bracelet, which with a discount would bring it to under £10k. Preowned even better. Or put ...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

The first one did instantly make me do a little "phwoar" under my breath, so that must be a good sign! An absolute belter. And I'm not going to look up the price because that will just spoil things! :)

Re: Contentious Copycat

When we are holiday in seaside resorts [pauses to wistfully remember such occurrences from a by-gone world] and see the shops selling rip-off fake-branded clothes, trinkets, souvenirs, postcards, etc we always refer to them as "tat shops". Not sure if it's just us or a more widely used term.

Re: What WAS I thinking of?

Glad to see that you learned from the first time you made this mistake and sold it! :) I had a similar experience towards the end of last year when I made up my mind to sell my white/silver Aqua Terra with blue hands and markers. I got it serviced, took all the pictures for the sales post, drafted a...

Re: “You and Your Watches” - 10 questions

welshlad 1. How did you become interested in watches, and when? I was fascinated by watches when I was 4-5 years old I think. I remember my Great Uncle making a rare visit from London and him having a very interesting watch on that he let me inspect and play with. I clearly showed a lot of interest ...

Re: Happy Birthday Welshlad

Happy birthday young fella. You haven’t aged much in the time I’ve been on the forum. I meant to ask - did Kip have to get your parents permission before you were allowed to be a mod? I don't seem to age much. I'm still only 5, despite joining the forum 8 years ago. :) And, yes, my mum had t...
