Re: Return/Refund and USA Import Duty

With the inflation of the past four years, the $800 import limit should be raised to reflect that everything costs more now. Obviously, that is an American customs issue & not something that Christopher Ward has any control over. As an US customer, it is far simpler to buy the sub $800 watches b...

Re: CW seconde/seconde/ collaboration

I admit it's not my cup of tea. But I don't think it's primarily aimed at us watch enthusiasts. I think it's more aimed at fans of seconde/seconde. I've no idea if it will be popular with them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it sell quite well. To me, it seems designed by someone who has a clic...

Re: Scotland Recommendations

This thread of Scotland Recommendations is proving to be very interesting to me. Like Drew, I am in the planning stages of a trip to Scotland. I think that we share similar interests in history, so I do believe that Edinburgh is a must stop. With the festival held during August, there are two option...

Re: Divers in the context of your collection?

Using Steve’s dive watch definition criteria, I cast my vote. My collection may be skewed somewhat not by an overall preference for dive watches but more by my becoming a Christopher Ward enthusiast about six years ago. A lot of CW releases have fit the dive watch definition during that time period....

Re: Watch Winders

IMG_2288.jpeg IMG_2289.jpeg Christopher Ward did sell a Designhutte watch winder, which I will attach a picture of the one that I still have. I bought two about a year apart. The first winder’s motor failed in about 18 months or six months after I bought the second. That seems about par for the cou...

C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler Chronometer
Been a while since I have worn this one. With its automotive styling & SH21 movement, there’s a lot to like. On the leather strap, it could pass for a lightweight titanium case but it is not.

Re: Settling into retirement and a new home!

Before the moment passes, I do wish to ask a question. For some reason your map of Cape Cod made me think of this. Have you ever taken the ferry to Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake? My wife & I did back in 2019 when as part of our Virginia trip, we explored the Northern Neck & ...

Re: Settling into retirement and a new home!

Thanks so much for sharing some of your collection of maps! I had wondered earlier but could not make out for sure the one of Dijon. Now I know! The pull down map summons memories from my own educational experiences many years ago. I particularly like the style & sense of time period of the Air ...

Re: Settling into retirement and a new home!

IMG_2282.jpeg Drew, Thanks for the immediate feedback & thanks for adding the picture of the writing desk. Just another one of those items that are timeless in design & function. I am sensing that we share an interest in maps. I guess that cartography & the study of history does go hand...

IMG_2281.jpeg Congratulations Drew! From your past posts, I know this move has been years in the making & a dream realized! I can understand your frustrations with the educational system from your last years of teaching. Your new “happy place” looks fantastic & should serve its purpose well...

For me, the “most exciting moment” hasn’t been provided as an option. Unboxing my new watch trumps all of the above!
