So what's your thinking on these two new watches - one or the other? Why? Both? Why?

I'm thinking they are nice but you can find a 40mm 9F Quartz equipped GS for about £2000 if you look, and these are getting a bit too close to that for me to call just for an SH21 inside...

Don't CW give forum members a complimentary watch if they launch it on your birthday ? I'm sure I read that somewhere? \:D/

Re: CW price increases coming April 3rd, 2023

This prompted me to check my account history. In May 21 I bought one of the then new C63 GMT for £695... a quick look at the current lists and they are £850. Even a 5% increase on April 3rd would take that model to around £900. So that's a 30% price rise in less than two years.... (that original pur...

Mods pls remove if innapproriate, as you well know I've got form for sharing new things I shouldn't but Id hate CW forum members to miss out on this if they are interested ! https://www.abl...

Re: White Sand Dune - 5 minutes on the wrist

I think the white sand is the pick of the dune range and it's on my watch list. In fact the only thing stopping me is that I keep wondering what the white sand dial and the bronze case would pair like, and if it'll appear as an option soon.

Re: Tissot PRX P80 40mm light blue

Apart from an article in monochrome, and a picture posted on instagram from someone that apparently bought it from a german retailer via their website, it is seemingly unknown ! This is marketing in the 2020's then ? Or have tissot simply released a few to see how high the resellers will push the pr...

Anyone else seen this article over at Monochrome and on Instagram and been able to make any sense of it ?!

Re: Dune variation: is it just me?

I've not owned a bronze watch for these reasons too- I like the new finish but not so keen on it becoming too dull. CW have a video somewhere about restoring it to new with some diluted lemon juice and a toothbrush. Is there anyone on the forum that does this, and how often to keep it looking new? W...

Re: Another Bel Canto thread: this one's for the non-owners, the unbelievers

Handling watches makes a big difference to how you perceive them without doubt. This is particularly true of the very expensive brands imo. Whilst I admired the Bel Canto from the start, the styling of the dial didn't appeal , I felt like many it was too much about the chime, and the dial itself cou...

Re: My thoughts on Omega

That said, I think there are quite a lot of significant brands with an identity crisis. JLC, AP etc etc. I can say what I like about Rolex but they have no such issue. Got to respect that. [/quote] I think that's because Rolex only really make one model of watch. The oyster. Sure you can have it in ...

Re: missF - February 2023

That's a great collection I enjoyed seeing it ! Good to see another fan of the black sand super compressor, I particularly like the brown tropic strap. It compliments the white sand dune, which we clearly agree is the pick of the new range! I'm envious of that one and it's on my future wish list. An...

Re: Crown action / servicing

 It doesn't help anyone with a screw down crown, but it's a shame everyone is so paranoid about "needing" a generally superfluous screw down crown. (In my opinion) I'm with you on this one. I own/owned several watches from quality brands that are rated over 100m WR with push in crown...

Re: Bremont valued at £100m

I've never seen anyone wearing a Bremont in the flesh I've owned three, and my Dad still has a very early BC-S1 which is a size I wish they'd bring back (39mm). I love the bremont trip tick case design and the finishing and ability of these watches to resist scatches and marks is superb. The ETA eq...
