Re: Non CW of the Day

What a unique hybrid: Askania Bremen (with a compass-like dial) in an Askania Taifun case with bidirectional bezel - imitating a Damasko watch.
But I love it

Re: The Pocket Watch Gallery

https://www.watchuseek.com/posts/38717002/  And so it has finally happened. I have been looking at these for years, and recently came across this reasonably priced, near perfect example. Complete with inner and outer boxes, and even the instruction sheet for opening the outer case. The movement...

Re: Review: Zelos Mako 500m Bronze Diver

Thanks Des! Yes, I got distracted - or widen my collection horizon. I fell in love with bronze watches - and quite a few divers are bronze (or really brass). But I stick to my rule: buy a watch significantly below 1000€. I rather give it a boost by a strap, as I did here. All big fun, getting ever d...

Re: Review: Zelos Mako 500m Bronze Diver

An old thread, an old watch. After long search I finally found my limited edition V2-specimen from 2018 in Australia! Meanwhile safe in Germany I have a beautiful cognac leather strap taylor-made for it, with matching blue leather inside. The strap is made by Pipala leatherworks in Poland, the handm...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

I'm seriously considering moving on from Day dreaming to ownership Go for it, Steve! I got this sister model recently, in black and gold and the somewhat over-the-top camouflage dial. It is certainly not your taste, but the mechanics is the same. Solid , heavy, with a nice clicking bezel. IMG_3467....

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Did someone say “left field”? Long ago during my engineering studies I enrolled in an industrial design lecture. What we learned there is a designer should not pass the MAYA-threshold. MAYA meaning Most Advanced but Yet Acceptable. I wonder if this watch is still cis-MAYA or already trans-MAYA

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

As a lover of functional, complicated and in particular pilot watches, the Reservoir Airfight Jet keeps me awake at night. A mechanical regulator with jumping minutes, jumping hour, date and a power reserve indicator (like a fuel gauge) :D But whoever designed it, he forgot the lume on the hours ind...

Wow, a Copernicus Regulator  . Tried in vain to contact Copernicus - not in existence any more.

Re: Simple beauty

I love this thread because it expresses much of my reality, not able to afford the high-price spectrum, but finding gems below the 1000€/£ mark, particularly in used watch auctions. There is so much that makes my heart beat there! This is my newest acquisition, a heavily used older Fortis B42 Diver ...

Pipala Strap from Poland for my new Stowa Bronze Flieger

Finally it arrived: the new handmade green thick leather strap, orange inside, with marvellous green sides, matching to my new Stowa Vintage B40 Flieger watch. I had seen this strap somewhere on Instagram and contatced the owner - in Poland. He recommended the maker, Przemek Pipala, to me (and infor...
