Re: C6 Replacement sapphire crystal

Is there more to a crystal than just being round (assuming this is a round crystal), with a given thickness, and flat/domed/box shape sufficient to clear the hands, and a certain height to install into the watch case? Is there a specification available for this one? Would it matter if it wasn't the ...

Re: New Malvern 595

It would be probably be better to let a buyer put one or two watches in their basket and then give them 5 minutes to check out. A lot of theatre ticket bookings work like that. I don't think it would be so fair to let a single shopper put a lot of watches in a basket. Alternatively let everyone put ...

Re: 1/10 second counter

Addendum. I just left my rotary chrono running, and indeed the 1/10th seconds did change to an hour counter in due course. I am just doing it again to see if it registers an half hour increment, but I imagine it will.

Re: 1/10 second counter

Rotary GB 90152. Quartz chronograph. This has a few more functions. It has a 10th second wheel, which on testing stops after 30secs, which I didn't realise, until reading this thread. It has a 30 minute total time register. So if you set the chrono going with button 1, you have these options. Button...

Re: Old hybrid/new hybrid.

I agree with Guy. Personally I think you could safely go down a half size to an 18mm strap. I don't think a tiny gap matters that much, especially as it makes it easier to change the strap. I put 20mm NATO's on 22mm lugs, and hardly notice it.

@Dean. Surely you could show us some CW watches in Snowdonia, and pick up a CW of the month award. We would love to see some scenery.

Re: Non CW of the Day

It's lovely out, and it's Montblanc Monday. I'll be mowing the lawns later on though, and it will be a different watch for that.

But even if it's a fast change date they still warn you not to change the date in the twilight hours. Do do do do, do do do do.

Re: Strap options for C65 AM GT LE

Personally I think the colour and texture of the strap is an important consideration. Not just any brown strap with any black or blue watch. You need a match that works for you. I think the first time I got this was when I messed around with a cheap bundle of watch gecko straps, and put a brown stra...

Re: Tissot deployment strap.

I meant that the bader clasps on the CW cordovan straps work the same way as the omega ones. The extra leather goes under the clasp not over.

I don't think I phrased it quite right in my last post.

Re: C65 Trident automatic strap question

You don't think it might be because of the thickness of the leather, do you? I have a c65 vintage, but it's got a metal bracelet on at present, and I don't want to take it off. However, I wondered whether the thickness of the leather around the pin might catch the watch case and make the pin click i...

Re: Tissot deployment strap.

The CW bader straps on the cordovan bracelets are the same, but they are mens not ladies, and they aren't a cheap fix either. I am sure you know but they are very elegant as there are no keepers, and you only see the small closure.

Re: Tissot deployment strap.

Just a conclusion. Thanks again for your helpful comments. I have now ordered a replacement deployant clasp with pushbuttons, which will avoid wear and tear on the leather strap. While looking at all the clasps on the bay, I realised that a lot of them were friction, with no apparent easy release. I...
