Re: All our yesterdays…
Beautiful collection Neil. Mine is a lot less high end than yours, but I have still spent a fair amount in total. So much so that my preferred price range now is very low. I still see loads of watches I would love to own,, were price not a factor. For instance, I have now thought that a rectangular ...

I saw that, and my instinct was to select the most popular answer, also. No spoilers. Sidereal effects. Who knew? Veritasium is brilliant. A couple of good ones. Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread
Well this will have to be a little bit cloak and dagger, but a local jeweller we use has a nicely reduced ring in their Christmas sale. I have reserved it, and I will take my current and first wife to have a look at it, in the next day or so. Maybe Christmas is solved.

Re: One of these has just arrived..
@tikkathree Given the small bag with the bracelet link, I assume the omega is a new arrival. :D Think again oh great JAFO. The oe Flightmaster bracelet is away with Mr Freese for a minor fettle and in the meantime the watch has been sitting on the grey Sandra Visser rally strap. I picked up the raz...

Re: Non CW of the Day
I was considering a rectangular watch, and I saw that Oris, and also the Longines versions. Both rather less expensive than Cartier and JLC. When they give sizes, I'm never sure what the case size actually refers to. It makes it hard for me to judge how such a watch would wear. That Oris looks great...

Re: Non CW of the Day
I'm wearing a few less worn watches at the moment and enjoying them all over again. They don't even have to be big ones. This is one of my smallest watches.
And now I see a thread on the crystal at around the 1. The camera spots everything doesn't it?

Re: Falling out of love
I think if I was buying a new CW watch now, I would probably want to buy instantly the watch appeared on sale, as anything else seems to potential involve delays.

Re: WR testing by CW after repair/service
Maybe they just test to a nominal 3bar to ensure the seal and case back has been reattached without obvious error. What do other watch repairers do? Would we expect any repair to be tested to the rated depth. What if the watch has a problem with water ingress through some part that hasn't been repai...

Re: Incoming Strap.
It's a pain to swap over these cheap rubber straps, as the straps are machined slightly differently to the genuine ones. I have to shave away a bit of rubber with a craft knife, and it's still awkward as the screws have to be aligned just so to align the flat portion correctly. Anyway, I'll keep it ...
