Re: Pics from the walkers
Bradgate Park in Leicestershire, one time home of Lady Jane Grey, nine days queen. The parkland was left to the people of Leicestershire, and has free running fallow deer. The house is now a ruin. A small river, the Lin, runs through the park. IMG_20230206_142151709~2.jpg IMG_20230206_140251052~2.jpg

Re: Zelos moonphase
I think it looks great and good value for the specs. It would be even better if the pound was stronger against the dollar and we didn't have to factor in 20% on top for VAT. There are a couple of other dial variants if people are not keen on the background of the disk working with this dial. Moonph...

I don't think I would bother with loctite. If screws do work lose it won't be instant.

Personally, I think a Moonphase suits a more dressy watch.

Re: Christmas present
There are some wonderfully clever “Tube/Metro” maps around. I saw one of Middle Earth once! “Excuse me, do you have to change at Edoras for Minas Tirith?” Aha! Edoras..... Minas Tirith..... Dale....Westernesse... MORNINGTON CRESCENT! For the purposes of clarity: https://youtu.be/lziCs...

Re: Time to retire from the game?
I'm not retiring from the fray, but I do have more watches than I really need, and no longer any great inclination to add to the number, although never say never. However few watches stir me to buy now, as I seem to have the bases covered already. I did buy a Moonphase before Christmas. An inexpensi...

Re: Feeling Nostalgic
I get what you are saying Steve but I can't help but think it only matches that esthetic. For example it would look way out of place on a C60 300 Pro for example. However, I also feel that the Swish, even applied, would not look right on the example above. I don't know. Maybe a black applied would ...

Re: The Non-Curmudgeons Corner
On more great news our son took my wife and I for a fantastic meal at Pesto this lunchtime, on the happy occasion of my wife's birthday. 3 small dishes for a flat price, not so small in practice, and thoroughly satisfying. My first time, but I will go again. ( The least expensive menu is 9.99 a head...

Great news. I missed this but Mark Cavendish the GOAT sprinter has signed for Astana. The TdeF record beckons. Forza Cav.

I bought a carriage clock with an engraved message. It didn't bother me too much.

Well that was unexpected. A UV torch on the blue C65, but I didn't expect the white stitching on the strap to glow like this.

Re: The Regatta at Henley-on-Thames
Would the regatta be restricted/ticket entry even just to watch?
I presume so, but maybe not.
