Re: Living in fear…..

Of course it is. But you need to be able to recognise it (the banter) when it comes back over the net at you.
Oh, I do. That's why I didn't react to your comment in the original thread ...

Re: Does this remind you of anything?

I appreciate that but I was just referring to the principle. Anyway, can't get all political, so I'll hang up now. :D Fair comment (I was avoiding political comment too  ) We're very polite aren't we? Personally I think the problem lies with people expecting cheap stuff and not caring where it...

Re: Living in fear…..

I seriously doubt that Andrew is "living in fear", and neither am I.

It's a bit of light-hearted banter. I thought that was allowed on the forum.

Re: Does this remind you of anything?

why do the RM (UK gov) distribute Chinese goods for free Royal Mail is not a government agency. It was sold off in 2015 and is a privately owned company. I may be wrong, but I think that they are legally obliged to distribute items posted in another postal region under international agreements. Don...

Re: Am I a ‘freak’…….

I suppose a lot of this debate about whether a beer will go flat quicker is academic if you aren’t planning to nurse a pint all evening.
Can't say I've EVER had a beer go flat on me, no matter where in the country I've drunk it!

Re: Am I a ‘freak’…….

when I see row after row of S and M in the sales, it is most disheartening. Surely the fact that these sizes have remained unsold shows that you are certainly not an unusual size. As to watch sizes, I find that after a day or two I just get used to different sizes. Although not a fan of larger watc...

Re: Let's hear it for the Royal Mail/Parcel Force

I've had mixed experiences during the recent industrial action. A parcel I posted from Wigan area to Devon (got there in under 48 hours - well ahead of the promised time. I've got stuff that I've ordered from eBay that is still showing as "in transit". Including an item I received a couple...

Re: Rolex....pre owned

Watches in the program need to be 3 years old. I don't think this will curtail flipping any. No, it won't. It will however prevent AD's from selling "pre-owned" watches that aren't at above RRP. I've said it before and will repeat it here - I cannot understand why Rolex don't jack up thei...

Re: Omega Service

I get it. There's a world of difference between "wearing a watch for work" and wearing a watch for work that will inevitably result in some form of damage. Personally, I'd wear a cheaper watch for your job (I've just bought a g-shock 5610U from Argos for £80) and pop the Seamaster back on ...

Re: Rolex AirKing - had the call

Purely as an investment Investing is a more socially acceptable name for gambling isn't it? Buy it if you genuinely want it and accept any fluctuation in price for what it is. It's interesting to see that while forum members heap opprobrium on flippers who hoover up previously unwanted watches in t...

Re: Should they just bite the bullet and.......

But McDonalds have never tried to hide/remove the name have they Hmm... McDonalds give a lot of prominence to the 'Golden Arches' logo - look at their website. When I see the adverts every fortnight in "Private Eye" magazine, and look at the website, I don't get the impression that CW are...

Re: Should they just bite the bullet and.......

There are many watch brands with a name that is not connected to the current owners of the brand. I don’t see a problem with keeping the name. It is part of the journey. In time there will come a point when none of the present owners are involved. I quite agree. I cannot understand the fascination ...

Re: Black Friday for this year ?

There are many things that I like about the U.S, but I cannot agree that we should slavishly import everything from our friends across the ocean.

I'd be very happy to never hear the words "Black Friday" again.

Very clever engineering, amazing even. But ... does this qualify as a "fashion watch"? Just asking.
