Do you replace the strap before wearing a new watch?

Do you replace the strap on a new watch before wearing it?

Is it worth the effort and cost to keep the original strap in unworn condition in the event you don't "bond" with the watch and want to return or flip it?

Re: CW Repair Workshop Closed due to Coronavirus

Thanks for the heads up. I currently have a watch there for repair. I've been wondering about the impact of the virus, and now I know. My C7 Rapide must have made it out just in time. DHL dropped it off yesterday. If you don't mind me asking, what did you have done to your C7? I sent it in for havi...

Re: C65 Anthropocene arrived!

The camel strap goes really well with the GMT hand. I'm envious; Mrs. O thinks I have already spent my watch budget for the year :)

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000

I like it, but would have preferred a 24 hour bezel. That would have kept the dial cleaner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This was pretty much my thought, too. I think the blue/orange version is extremely attractive, but the overall balance between bezel and dial doesn’t feel quite right to me...

Re: Trident Chronograph Quartz

Which black and red strap would you use to match the red second hand of the chronograph?

Hybrid

or

Piccari Leather

Thanks for you thoughts,

Your photos really highlight the light catching lines of the watch. Thanks for the pictures.

Do the CW Canvas Straps Attract Lint?

Do the CW Canvas Straps Attract lint? I had a Hadley Roma cordura strap that attracted lint and fibers like crazy. I got in trouble with Mrs. O for using all of her tape to clean the lint off of the strap.

Re: Trident Chronograph Quartz

Thanks all, I've grown comfortable with the size. Now I have to get used to the lume. The hands and pip on the bezel glow well, but the minute markers are visible for only a couple hours after I have gotten my night vision. I'm used to the lume on my Seikos and Citizens that lasts just about all nig...

Re: Trident Chronograph Quartz

It’s footprint on your wrist looks fine in my eyes. Diameter, height, lug length, weight and strap are all parts of the equation. In the end it is entirely down to you and your comfort/aesthetic preferences. C Since I'm locked in the house...I measured my wrist width again. Still about the same, 55...

Re: Trident Chronograph Quartz

Size looks good to me, but how it feels on the wrist is personal. Thickness is a personal thing, and for me depends on how I plan to wear it. Too thick to slip under a cuff? Maybe. Too thick for jeans and a T-shirt? Maybe not. This watch came on a bracelet, but I would have needed a half link to ma...
