Single-handed 24 hour watch

I'm interested in everybody's observations (at least those who want to make them....) I saw a video from a few years ago of a Slow automatic watch. Exhibition case-back with a decorated 2893 in the back, beating away at 28,800 vph, not a lot going on in front :). Struck by a kind of sense of the rid...

Re: Seems As If My Wrist Has Waited For An Eternity!!..

Oh yeah. Manages to be a classic style and something different all at once. And the price.
You might wait an Eterna-ity to do better (sorry) :)

but the waves are much nicer and the touches of red really make this watch a very special Seamaster.
Can't argue with that! The blue/grey is very nice but that one has has some tasty "pop".

Re: Bulova Revisits A WWII Classic With The New A-15 Pilot Watch

Nice heads-up. Good-looking and interesting watch for sure. I checked the link to find a list price of USD695 on this re-re-issue. An 8-series Miyota is a bit light-on for that ask methinks, however.

Re: On the Trail of the Grail

Don't need to summon Einstein to figure out how that Zenith is someone's "grail watch". Not just fabulous, properly interesting and individual. Big congrats! I guess if I have a grail watch it's "something Stowa". I like just about all of them. There's an 8 year old Marine Handaufzug (minor scratchi...

Re: On the Trail of the Grail

Currently I'm most interested in the variety of watches and the things I find interesting across that spectrum. An interest that is found in all sorts of levels. So that is quite different than a "grail" kind of watch that is quite specific in its appeal. The day will come perhaps when I discover wh...

Re: Daytona - well it was my birthday......

Interesting (teased....) read about an historically significant watch. Thanks for the heads-up, Neil. I think it's become somewhat unfortunate the level of hype that is associated with these sorts of models, especially in the Rolex family currently (Datejust, Subs and such) and temperamentally that ...

Re: Quartz - no need to hide...

This is a great subject to discuss. Personally I've poked around watch forums for some time "guest" without joining one. When I did, I chose this one, even before buying a CW watch. Why? There is no snobbery here that I have detected. My collection is rather modest and I've had no feeling ever that ...

Re: Did I Really Buy That?

"And now for something completely different...." oh, we all have to have something like that.

If it was mine I think I'd try a nice rich suede on this. See where you're coming from with this watch, it's hard to stop looking at it.

Re: Hamilton Khaki King Scuba(H645150) Joins the Herd....

I can see the appeal, really like that. I have a Khaki Field Auto myself and for sure Hamilton does this slightly cluttered but still easy-to-read-the-time thing really well. Not generally a fan of day complications but the 12 O'clock full display has a certain Don Draper-esque "charm". Good pickup!...

Re: Of your own watches. your favourite dial?

If someone were to ask me "What's the big deal about watches?" or similar, I would point them at this thread. Surely there is no finer medium for the expression of design-as-art than a watch dial. EVERYone here has something special they can put on their wrist, make them smile and enjoy what it is t...
