Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

I see TK Maxx has several high-end brands at bargain prices, not just Oris. Amazing!

Build quality is good for the price
How does the build quality compare with other brands (e.g. CW, Steinhart or Orient)?

Marloe watch

What are Marloe watches like? They look terrific on the Marloe website, of course, but has anyone seen a Marloe watch in the metal?

The metal bracelet is steel whereas the case is titanium
How bizarre. Why would they do that?

Re: How Careful / Paranoid Are You About Wearing Your Best / Most Treasured?

Sold all my prissy, luxury crowd pleasers due to having a toddler and being a biker, just can't wear them without devaluing them or feeling like they can't take the punishment. Why? Is your toddler a watch thief? :) And what does being a biker matter? The watch will be tucked away under your bike j...

Re: New Yellow C65

If the logo was at 12 o’clock (like the new Military Range) then I’d be tempted.

A date window would be a bonus for me too.

I like it! The logo looks considerably better at 12 o’clock.

Re: Delayed watch service

I wonder if they damaged the original dial during servicing, so had to replace it with a new one.

Either way, I much prefer the old logo. I wish CW would drop the new logo!

Smiths ‘Seafire’

The Smiths Seafire was discussed during its development, but has anyone seen or worn one? A quartz movement with a ‘sweeping’ second hand makes it a bit different, but I’m curious to know what the quality feel and PVD resilience are like.

having steered clear of CW altogether for because of logo-related antipathy
When is CW going to listen to all the antipathy towards the logo? Who on earth wants all that writing on the dial? Like Morris, the CW logo has put me off buying current models.

Hamtun are a great example of genuineness. Ross, the owner, is a very genuine and passionate guy and his social media PR and marketing campaign encourages alot of feedback and interaction. It's the brands who are poor at comms that need to be given a bit of a wide berth Has anyone seen or worn a Ha...

Tutima have a good brand history and some Military links, A few in the pacific range were quartz.
I’ll add another vote for Tutima. I’ve owned the odd Tutima diver and they’re outstanding quality - similar quality to an Omega Seamaster in my opinion, in the days before Omega went a bit bling.
