Re: New CW Releases - Jan 2020 - C60 Elite 1000

I’m wondering if at 15mm thick and so about 2mm thicker than the equivalent Trident it might be a bit too chunky for me. My Planet Ocean GMT, with exhibition back and 600M/2000ft WR, is 17.25mm thick. That makes this C60 Elite 1000 a slimline! 15mm sounds a lot, but it really doesn't wear like that...

Re: Quartz - no need to hide...

Just the same: I'm with MiniMpi on this one: chronographs using a small second hand are best :) The seconds hand thing has never bothered me really. I know some people are devotees of the perfect, seamless sweep, but it doesn't rank among my highest priorities. When you come to think about it, ther...

Re: Quartz - no need to hide...

This is a great subject to discuss. Personally I've poked around watch forums for some time "guest" without joining one. When I did, I chose this one, even before buying a CW watch. Why? There is no snobbery here that I have detected. My collection is rather modest and I've had no feeling ever that...

Re: New CW Releases - Jan 2020 - C60 Elite 1000

I appreciate that products evolve and that's a good thing. In my mind, at least, something that's a 'Limited Edition' suggests that there won't be another watch like it; a unique colourway or a special material used in the construction of the item or just a particular design feature. I'm struggling ...

Re: New CW Releases - Jan 2020 - C60 Elite 1000

Is there anyone else here, who bought the C60 Trident Elite 1000 LE last year, feeling a bit cheated?

Re: C60 Trident Bronze Pro 600 / patina

One thing to note regarding reversing the change... Naturally progressing patina can be reversed by various methods and the result looks, for all intents and purposes, pretty much like it originally did. Forced patina on the other hand, can actually damage the case; it’s something often hidden by t...

Re: C60 Trident Bronze Pro 600 / patina

Also, when reversing patination, I see that CW recommend cape cod cloths. I've seen that others mention lemon juice (submerge the watch and leave it?) or ketchup. Any links for those methods? I know I can Google for this stuff, but would like to hear from folk that have actually done this and how t...

Re: C60 Trident Bronze Pro 600 / patina

I really like the look of that! I've got the C60 bronze GMT so I might experiment with the ammonia/salt aging. Btw - how do you do that? Got a link handy? Re: Newbie question on Shipping delay?

I just got an email rom Katie who says ‘ I will check on your repair and get back to you ASAP’
That's pretty much a standard Katie reponse to anything you might ask.

Re: Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

I'd bet sixpence they dont provide timegrapher evidence and I often wonder if the COSC certificate provided with a new watch isn't actually pertaining to that individual watch.
But that would be fraud right?

Re: Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

Hi Paul, That's a good question re. COSC certificate. I just assumed that something had happened to my watch whilst in transit. When a watch is regulated, I'd expect a print out from a timegrapher, showing how the watch is performing. I can't really give CW deadlines; they fail to meet their own! Ian

Re: Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

Thanks Chaps, Lots of useful information. I particularly liked the film comment, but I won't be doing that!! I've got another CW watch which is running at +1s per day, so I think my wear pattern is pretty good - generally, a watch goes on my wrist at 0630hrs and stays there until 2300hrs. Plus, I'm ...

Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

Hi There, I was lucky enough to get my hands on an Elite 1000 ('#288). However, when I received it, it was running some 11/12s slow per day. I advised CW right away, and I waited a few weeks before returning the watch to see if it might settle down. It didn't, so I sent it in to be regulated. I go t...
