Re: Watch price elasticity…

I think more and more brands overlook the average person as they know there are rich people with more money who will always pay it. I also think as watch enthusiasts we often have an overinflated sense of our own importance or at least how we feel we should be perceived by brands. (Not all of us but...

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

@Fat-Sam That's plus 20% VAT in the UK, isn't it? Is £10k really a crazy low price? Or even £8.5k, if somehow there's no VAT involved? I hadn’t thought about Vat. (I’d get an easyJet flight personally 🤣) But I do think £8.5 is particularly low- there’s steel ones going for not much less and that’s ...

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

I do know the saying “too good to be true” but… also eBay is weighted so heavily in favour of the buyer this had me tempted, and despite several red flags, not needing it or being able to afford it… I’m still tempted 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ It looks so nice 😍 (even if it is from someone with odd feedback in Italy at...

Re: King Charles’ watch of choice

I also like Charles' approach of "buy once, buy well". It's certainly a sustainable approach as quality items outlast those that are more cobbled together. I've always sought to buy the best quality of anything I was looking for, cash flow permitting of course. Des I’ve taken this approac...

Re: Problem with my C63 - is this covered by 60/60?

The question you need to ask is: Did you get a dopamine hit when you bought it? That was its purpose and when you need that dopamine hit again- get some new straps for it (why do you think I have over 20 straps for my Reverso - including many I will never use😄) The hunt, the clicking on ‘purchase’ a...

Re: Straps for Reverso

The Reverso takes a lot of different straps, and I’ve indulged myself quite a bit. 1AE11DEC-2AFF-4B02-A783-54715D11DECF.jpeg I love the orangey one- where is that from if you don’t mind me asking? I’m running out of colours that I don’t own so orange could be the next purchase 😄 Great selection of ...

Re: Balancing smartwatch and ‘watch watch’

I got a cheap fitness tracker from Huawei before going down the Apple Watch Series 7 route, for 6-7 months I double waisted but it was just too big and looked weird to me- I felt self conscious and a few people a week would comment on it. Another problem I had was that my main watch was a Reverso wh...

Re: Movements

For me it depends on the price and purpose of the watch. I’m happy with a miyota/seiko in a watch that will be worn infrequently or as a bit of a beater. I’m happy with a selitta or eta if it’s regulated and up to a grand or two but I was put off the IWC mark petit Prince due to the movement as £4-5...

Re: Non CW of the Day

I usually stop wearing a watch the moment I decide to sell it, but this one wears so nicely I find myself keep coming back to it. Maybe I need to read that as a sign that I’ll come to regret it… like so many others that have gone 😄🤦🏻‍♂️

Re: Straps for Reverso

Thanks for the link- will have a look this evening 👌 The RW and Longines don’t get any wrist time -but do share the same lug width- all of these have had an outing on the Reverso though! The quick release straps make it so nice and easy to change depending on what I’m wearing and my initial fears of...
