Re: How many interviewers did they need!!

Agree with pretty much all the posts so far- I’m going to be recruiting a new admin where I work and I’ll be really interested to see the interview processes I’m forced to do (as a relatively big organisation). The comments about the probationary period are particularly interesting as our HR is like...

Re: Retailers honouring pricing errors?

With regards to the in-store side of things- I was under the impression that stores had the right to refuse entry to certain people or refuse to serve people and could ask someone to leave the store. I.e. if you got shirty/technical with them about a pricing error they could ask you to leave (and pr...

Re: How many interviewers did they need!!

It’s insane these days, where I work we often have 2-3 interviews for each successful applicant. Even moving internally (within the same company but different boroughs) I’ve had group interviews, value based interviews, presentations, competency interviews, panel interviews, 121 interviews and even ...

Re: TRIBUS 303 Squadron P8331 Limited Edition

I wanted to like something but all their watches made me shrug. This is not bad... but anything over a grand for it is too much for me.

Re: C65 Sandstorm Chronometers

I quite like it and was considering a Sandhurst anyway as my next CW but really dislike canvas straps and don’t want to have to pay extra for a steel bracelet. I’m sure they’ll sell quickly as they look a bit like the sector dials that seem to be having a resurgence plus they have the magic words li...

Re: Christopher Ward Merchandising

For me it’s the sort of brand I’d happily grab a cap or t shirt for a holiday, even the mugs and key rings I’d probably get (I faded my 2019gtg mug out with the dishwasher) I’m not sure I’d wear a Rolex or Omega (or any luxury brand for that matter) cap/t shirt but brands with a good community and t...

Re: The Power of Suggestion

I appreciate other people’s views as an input to my decision-making process, whether I agree with them or not. My first impression of any watch is based on a holistic view. Does it warrant a double-take? It’s binary. Do I like it or not based on the part I will see the most? It takes further resear...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Having finally decided and taken a few steps towards my perfect (but pretty obvious/boring)3 watch collection (speedy pro, Reverso duoface and either then an Explorer, Sub, black bay or pelagos) I started thinking would I be happy with that. The answer is obviously yes and I’ve always been comfortab...

Re: New Watch, Incoming!

I don’t know this watch itself but a good and trusted watch servicer/repairer would normally be able to refinish and polish a case. I know there is often a dislike of polishing watches but I think people often mistake bad over-polishing with a sympathetic and well done polish and refinish. I’m not s...

Re: Watch storage and/or display

I used to have a decoy safe which was pretty empty and not secured and I kept my watches in my cereal boxes when I moved out to Essex and didn’t know the area- the hope was that they would see the safe, think they’ve struck gold and leave quickly with it!

32AFDB14-5D75-4288-8001-31CB92F2E80D.jpeg I got a really nice box from mappin & Webb in the sale (as it didn’t have a key)- it was originally a few hundred but ended up being £80 It perfect for me as I’m one of those “always striving for the perfect 3* watch collection” types. This picture was prob...

Re: 15% off- what we're really waiting for!

I get what people say about cheapening the brand to some extent but I also thing that along with the 0% finance and generally reasonable prices it makes buying more than one CW and a valid option. I said to MF at the gtg last year that I liked the idea of buying one a year, I generally wouldn’t do t...

Re: Pilot watches

The Sinn was cool but personally for the money (£1200) I was a tad underwhelmed, especially compared to CW. Hello @Fat-Sam, I've had the Sinn 104 on my radar for a little while but your post has got me a bit worried ... You mentioned that you were a "tad underwhelmed" - is there anything in particu...
