Re: C63 Sealander Collection

Lovely watches as they are, and I applaud  CW for the collection, if they had done the white C63 Sealander GMT in 42mm and a completely orange GMT hand then I'd buy one straight away. Unfortunately @39mm that's too small for me (the smallest watch I have is 40mm). I also don't own a watch tha...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

I think the standard auto is a cracking watch. Yes and No. I think the white is absolutely outstanding, whilst I do find the black Auto a bit ordinary. A quality watch, at an excellent price but the black has nothing to distinguish it from other brands - it feels like the type of watch I could easi...

Re: Hmm. What to wear tomorrow...

All great choices and you picked a good one! With regards to the back pain, I cracked the little bones thaf hold the discs in place (using a stupid lifting technique after years of rolling my eyes when people told me how to lift safely)- I frequently had a disc that could trap nerves giving me awful...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

The white dial auto is really appealing- but my Laco Cuxhaven has a white dial so may be selling that to part fund the c63!

Re: Generic watch purchase advice post

Thanks everyone for the replies- kind of what I think I was looking for subconsciously... the Reverso was the heart buy but so many people were telling me “Sub!” that I started to question myself. In answer to some of the questions/comments: It’s a gift so I wouldn’t get an older one and a bb58 but ...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

Really nice watches and after years of saying I didn’t mind (and quite liked) the 9 o’clock CW placement, I have to admit these look better to me 😂😂

Generic watch purchase advice post

I know these posts pop up everywhere, the “I’m stuck between two amazing watches but have convinced myself only one of them is perfect for me and I need strangers to help me find the right answer” type posts. I also figure I can’t go wrong with either as they’re both great but here goes: I am due a ...

Re: SEIKO SPB 143 v C60

That Seiko is the one that nearly tempted me out of Seiko retirement. I’ve owned a lot of Seiko divers, most of the mechanical ones at some point in some colour or variant and one thing I’d say from experience is when I’ve see a really cheap version online from a grey market dealer- these have tende...

Re: Coronavirus Vaccine.

I had my first jab a month ago but waiting to hear back about the second - I had a slight preference for the Pfizer so picked a large hospital I used to work to have my first jab as knew they would have the facilities and infrastructure to administer the Pfizer one (which as others have said is more...

Re: The watch gods giveth and the watch gods taketh away (incoming grand seikos)

Those are beautiful Seikos. I’d love to have either. Just a personal opinion, but that BOR bracelet just isn’t the quality to pair with that amazing case. I don’t have recommendations, but I’d be going with straps all the way. Yeah I liked the blued second hand which wasn’t on the sbgw231 strap ver...

Re: The watch gods giveth and the watch gods taketh away (incoming grand seikos)

Yeah I think there’s been so many in and out this late year (I’m known as “the watch whore” by my mate 😂)- still got 2-3 more to sell but sold my beloved Mitsukoshi Speedmaster and the Tudor along with an Oris divers 65. Still hoping for a belated 40th watch and got my vintage omega being serviced s...

Re: The watch gods giveth and the watch gods taketh away (incoming grand seikos)

Thanks 😊

I don’t pick the spring drive up until tomorrow but the manual wind beads of rice offering wears really well- looks and feels very much like a Rolex datejust on jubilee.

The watch gods giveth and the watch gods taketh away (incoming grand seikos)

After another clear out in my eternal search for a perfect smaller collection I’ve ended up with 2 new grand seikos- preferring the smaller sizes I went with a sbgw235 which is really beautiful, one of the most aesthetically pleasing watches I’ve seen in the metal. And an old favourite came back- th...

Re: A BB58 Happy New Year

Congrats on the purchase- I got a blue one new on new years day, had zero intention but a friend bombarded me with whatsapp messages telling me I was mad not to and how much it would suit me amd I snapped and bought it. So glad I did as it’s such a good wear, much better on than I’d anticipated. Wh...

Re: The Wristwatch Handbook

It’s also on eBay even cheaper- I tend to always check both sites for those sort of purchases as you can often save a bit between them. It’s a lovely book, I tend to stay away from the £100+ books as history tells me I never read them or look at them enough to justify it (to me) but £20-40 for a boo...
