Re: How much winding to get an auto working well?

Very interesting research. It confirms a suspicion I’ve had for a while about my Sinn 104 (SW220) which I used to think had erratic time keeping from rest; I’ve recently started to wind it more to get it going and its time keeping seems to have improved. Also supports what I think I knew about my N...

Re: C65 Dartmouth..... Wow!!

Wow love the look of this, not sure I can justify a new purchase indoors so need to decide whether to sell my c60mk3 to part fund it or hide the c60 and pretend I did a straight swap and slowly reintegrate the c60 in a few months when the heat has died down I’m a grown man with a job... pathetic ain...

Re: C65 Dartmouth MK1 #181

I’m eyeing this up as my 12month 0% for the mk3 c60 comes to an end. When I saw it at the gtg I was impressed but had planned to get a pelagos and didn’t want 2x blue dive watches. After 9months or however long it has been I’m thinking this makes more sense. I might use the 0% apr to treat myself to...

Re: Selling on eBay for profit. . .

Yeah I guess their main reason for the sales is to dump older slower selling stock and get people constantly checking the website. Also... For us watch geeks the more you go back to a ‘planted seed’ the more it grows and grows until you make a purchase! They must know that with the prices and ease o...

Re: #OneGoodThing #coronavirus #covid19

While i appreciate how hard this is for so many people I have to be honest about the gratitude I have for my situation- spending time at home with my daughter, no commuting, no expensive lunches out, also being an introvert it’s been a really relaxing month or so with no excuses needed for why I did...

Re: Would You Have a Rolex Submariner Over One Of These?

Realistically I’d prefer the sub for every day use as not sure I could ever afford to get the AP serviced or repaired if it took a slight knock. Design wise I’ve had a GMTc and am considering an Explorer but AP have never sang out to me, I can appreciate the finishing on the APRO but the offshore is...

Re: Watch brochures

Always surprises me that people sell watch brochures on eBay for (what I deem to be) crazy prices, considering they’re free in shops and from the brands! I was impressed with Sinn and ended up buying one recently, I currently have a cabinet filled with my watch porn stash. Various catalogs, brochure...

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

Why do my missus and daughter shout around the house?! Either it’s important enough to come in to the room I’m in, or it’s not important and can wait. Feel like I’m on a building site with people shouting up and down stairs all day.

Re: Selling on eBay for profit. . .

Personally I wouldn’t inform HMRC or even eBay as as that’s not my way- but an email to CW or a question at their next gtg might be interesting as I think CW encourage the community and make more effort than most brands to engage with us

Yeah I would guess a skeleton dial and display back, like a more affordable zenith defy!

Re: Spinning rotor syndrome

I had the issue with my first CW (mk3 40mm) that I bought in June 2019 when they were quite new. I sent it back under warranty and CW swapped it Immediately for a new one (i also mentioned the bezel didn’t feel right and asked for a new watch rather than a repair). The new one has been fine and with...

Re: Modded Speedy - Mitsukoshi yes or no?

20191029_095537.jpg I own one and it really is the best looking watch I've owned, it has the strap monster ability of all speedys but looks in a different world (or moon...) I got a new hands and dial set, for more than I'd intended to pay, but it was going on a nearly new speedy pro that is still ...

The omega Boutique even recommended I use a lighter to warm it up- I'd taken my speedy in as the screws were too tight for me to remove a link
