Hodinkee Atlanta

Glancing through the photo report of Hodinkee’s Atlanta meet up, I was pleased to see a Trident Bronze holding it’s own amidst all the AP RO’s…

Wondering if the owner is part of this esteemed forum and can shed some light on the event?

Re: Balancing smartwatch and ‘watch watch’

Apologies - please disregard my last post. I mistakenly skipped from Page 1 to Page 3 and neglected to see that someone had already posted the Sinn info.

Re: Balancing smartwatch and ‘watch watch’

Like others here I double wrist with a Fitbit band on my right wrist and a conventional mechanical timepiece on my left. Some of the bands are innocuous enough but still provide key metrics (h/r, sleep, steps, stress etc.) Sinn also have a dual strap system for Apple Watches. I imagine this could be...

Pleased to see I’m not alone in my thinking! I did consider having a moan to Anordain - but don’t fancy being blacklisted or pushed further down the list… 🤣

Re: An Ordain x Hodinkee

This special edition doesn’t sit well with me. Not the watch itself - it’s beautifully worked - but the approach being taken by the company. Like many others I paid a non refundable deposit many months ago and continue to wait for my allocated slot which is perhaps another 24 months to go. The FAQ s...

Re: Recieved your Twelve?

I ordered mine a fortnight ago with a preorder date confirmation of May 10th. Received notification from both CW and DHL that order had indeed been dispatched on the 10th, with ETA in NL on the 12th. It arrived yesterday, a day earlier than planned 👍🏼

Re: “The Twelve” is live

I think it’s marvelous. Congratulations to all at Christopher Ward!

Only dilemma for me is which color to go for! I enjoy the heft of steel - but the titanium purple dial looks unique. Early days yet but any chance we will see additional colorways in the days to come?

Re: My thoughts on Omega

A great post with very astute observations. I am a big fan of Omega’s commitment to technical innovation but struggled to ever like anything enough to buy one. Like the OP I was convinced that the Aqua Terra was for me; until I tried it on. It just didn’t sit well. Thought I would never have an Omeg...

I routinely receive offers for A$170 off. Unusual, as I’m based in the Eurozone and have made all my purchases in €.

Is there any speculation on what this could be? I am intrigued, particularly if nobody else is doing anything similar…

Re: The Indefatigable Sphinx

I own a couple of their pieces which are a lot of fun to wear. Excellent customer service both online and at their London store, as well as (relative) affordability make dealing with them a no brainer.

The Indefatigable Sphinx

I’ve just been sent a link to Mr Jones Watches’ latest offering, The Indefatigable Sphinx. Powered by a Chr Ward / JJ jump hour movement. Looks fun! https://eu.mrjoneswatches.com/collections/all-watches/products/the-indefatigable-sphinx?utm_source=Referral&utm_medium=mrjoneswatches.com&utm_c...

Despite being in winders, it seems odd the watches aren’t ticking.

Lots of great suggestions! Will add one nonetheless: Citizen Promaster Tough. Monoblock case, 42mm, Quartz (solar), bracelet, sapphire, crown protection, well under 500.

Seems to check most of your requirements.

Re: Brands to consider on a £1500 budget

How about Tudor ? Probably not on everyone's radar at this price point, but certainly a decent option in my opinion. Regards Steve https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watches/1926/m91650-0012 Second Tudor. The Royal starts around £1700 if the style appeals to you. Sinn is another candidate. Their tool wa...
