Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

My two inherited vintage watches just back from the watch repairer. Both fitted to new Hirsch Regent Alligator straps. The Accurist has had a replacement movement and crown fitted and the Summit has had a second hand fitted and a service. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191014/bfba2a1496942fdf3d6...

Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

Genève.jpg This used to be my grandad's. It's had a handful of services, a new mainspring, and a new crystal (which is definitely not sapphire crystal), and the second hand isn't standard issue either. Around 4 seconds a day fast, which is nothing to be sneezed at for a watch this old. I like it a ...

Re: Smiths Everest PRS-25

Just got this beauty. Taken the chunky bracelet off and replaced with a Watchgecko Simple Hand Made Italian in Chocolate. Stupidly didn't double check the size first and have ended up with the 40mm. Wanted the 36mm but I am keeping this! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190909/5e0ce6fbbb550c9187d8...

Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

Called the watch repairer this week and was told that he couldn't do anything with it. Broken stem, cog wheel, jewel amongst other things! No idea how it came to be in such a state but the repairer has offered to speak to somebody he knows to see if he has a spare movement. Obviously not worth it f...

Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

Interesting question. I will try to remember to ask the watch repairer when I collect it. I didn't measure it but it will be in the region of 34mm. The Accurist is being repaired in a proper old school workshop. When I took it in there was a lady with a very unusual looking watch waiting to be serve...

Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

My Father's Accurist which I inherited a few years ago. It has been left in a drawer for 25 years but I recently decided it was time to spend some money on it and get it repaired and restored. The crown is missing and the movement needs a lot of attention! The watch is of little monetary value but o...

Re: Comparing Apples to Oranges: Tudor BB 58 vs. Oris Divers 65 Bronze Bezel

Love my Oris 65 Bronze bezel. Having a smaller wrist I went for the 36mm and I do regret this. The domed sapphire crystal helps the dial to pop and I received compliments in an Omega dealership a few weeks ago. Accuracy is consistent at + 4 seconds per day. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190726/...

Re: Dealers, discounts and finance....

Hi Ricardo. I had a similar experience at a local Beaverbrooks store. I spent a very pleasant hour trying on various colour combinations and sizes of the Planet Ocean. I was refused any sort of discount twice and offered 48 months interest free instead. A good price is more attractive to me than che...

Wow!
Do we think the previous Moonphase will be discontinued and maybe discounted?

Really looking forward to a few photos and reviews from buyers of the pepsi C65 GMT. It will probably be my next purchase.
