Re: C.Ward Market Survey

I get needing to know your client base, does anyone else think the whole format is a bit strange? Most times, there would be a link, which would link to a page with fill in the blank, or drop down boxes to fill. Nothing like that in my email. To take part in this I would have to compose the letter ...

Re: Advice please - Hr hand sits mid between numerals

I am not a watchmaker, but don't see how this could have happened while setting it. But I do concur, the watch is 10 years old, and by anyone's standards, due for a service. The hands are friction fit on the center stem so a possible knock could have caused this. No matter they will be removed as pa...

Aaand there she is, on her new leather strap.

Perfectly lovely, and with the font in the date window standing proper. Not trying to offend, but I have passed on many watches with the numbers laid over on their side. [-X

Re: On the Trail of the Grail

I too have been a fan of the VC Overseas line, and think the update to the bracelet is the perfect addition referencing the Maltese Cross, but was never a fan of the extra hash marks around the minute track. 20190917_055612.jpg Though nearly 20 years old, the 42040 at a svelte 37mmx8mm, is still a m...

Re: The "Sandhurst" from the military collection

Personally I would take the Sandhurst with the chronometer rated swiss movement over the Myoita powered W10 copy any day. Although I still don't know where the red section on the second hand came from.

Re: CWL of the day

Old school CW as you know Peter. Right up my alley indeed. :) I love how it doesn't try to "pay homage to" (read: emulate) anything (yeah, looking at you, Steinhart!). It's just being itself, and proudly so. I need a "lume shot" of this. ^^^Yup, Yup^^^ What he said. (closest I can come to a like) :...

Re: Introducing the C65 Military Range - Dartmouth / Sandhurst / Cranwell

Guess I prefer a screw down as well. Gives a level of percieved security, although not a deal breaker for me personally. This is not a watch I would ever take diving. Surely with a 150 rating it would be good for the occasional dunking. It is 2019, hopefully the technology relating to stem seals has...

Re: Is it just me?

I think a couple of my best and or favorite pieces were purchased on special occasions. A cruise in the Caribbean with dear friends for example gives a particular piece a very special place, and wearing it sparingly always brings back those memories and keeps it special.

Re: Non CW of the Day

Yep, when taking pics with my phone in portrait mode, I try to place my subject at the top or bottom of the pic, then resize just past 1:1 ratio and it should go in correctly. Some say if you access the forum through tap-a-talk this is not an issue. Can't help with that.

Freshly unboxed, second hand from forum member. Gobsmack georgous, perfect condition. I generally try to not be too critical, as my Momma always said, " if you can't say something nice..." But this is pure drivel. Who hires these people? Better yet who approves the copy before it goes to print? Almost embarrassing.
