Re: CWL of the day

Put my C65 on a green/black Cordura hybrid strap. Definitely prefer this to the Barton, although I'd have liked a shorter version ... https://i.ibb.co/sHk9rNs/IMG-20200116-182202.jpg Is that one of CW's High Density Webbing straps, Ryan, or another brand? Looks neat by the way. Guy Agreed...That's ...

Re: It's a list in a magazine so it must have credibility

For me it's the JLC and the Bulgari chrono. Hands down, the perfect 2 watch collection. One dress, and one sport chrono with GMT function. I suppose I would have to keep the ACAN for the occasional dip in the pond tho. So much for only two watches. What was I thinking?

Bright white on jet black. Absolutely brilliant. A true CW "GRAIL" IMO.
And by the way...great strap!

Re: Non CW of the Day

And today’s *actual* watch is a 1993 Omega Seamaster 200. I’d been looking for one of these for years, but usually when I found a nice one, it always seemed to be the smaller 36mm size (this is the less commonly seen 38mm) or the condition wasn’t up to my (admittedly close to unrealistic) standards...

Re: Mido Ocean Star titanium

Thanks all. I really was kind of an unplanned purchase. I read the review a couple years ago, then saw it reviewed again, and the rest is history. Just couldn't pass it up at that price. Checked the timing again yesterday. Set it 5 sec fast at 6am, wore it all day. Put it in my watch box face down o...

Mido Ocean Star titanium

I kept waking up thinking about this, so I finally "scratched the itch" when I found it at 40% off. $629 from Joma. I know, no factory warranty. At that price, I'll take my chances. This has the new 25 jewel version ETA powermatic 80 movement, so far it seems to be in the +-2sec range. Really like t...

Re: Pinion Atom 39 ND

Definitely don’t need one but crickey this is appealing! Perfect size, applied lume numerals and sensible money. Best pinion I have seen ^^^^Completely agree, very nice  I see nothing in Downers rules stating one must allow the most recent purchase to arrive before making another  Wai...

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

All this talk of Mido got me looking at the Ocean Star titanium again. After looking all over, it seems my best option, considering price, warranty and such is actually Jomashop. Mido/Swatch apparently does not offer any online sales in the US anymore. Only a guide to a local retailer which would no...

Re: New Steinhart Ocean Two Black Friday deal

I kinda like this. The automatic PR with a dual time ticks a lot of boxes. They list this as having a swiss made movement, "SOPROD 9335/A10.2". I have no idea what that means. Assuming it is their number for an ETA, or Sellita movement? Does anyone know for sure?
