Re: Do you have your Dartmouth on aftermarket rubber? Show me

Indeed, a Tropic suits the Dartmouth very well. Anything vintage styled, actually, specially on the black one. The OP asked about aftermarket rubber, and for a Tropic I prefer a more true-to-vintage option. Bulang & Sons sell a very nice quality Tropic in every possible lug size. It is long enou...

Re: Push Pull Crown on the C65 Trident Vintage

On the Dartmouth, as it is a diver, I welcomed the change to screw down crown. For the Cranwell and Sandhurst a push pull crown probably makes more sense. On the C65 diver, manual wind, a screw-down crown would have actually been a nuisance. But I feel that any model defined as a diver should have o...

Re: Question about some prices on the CW's website

If relevent/interesting, I used to work at Amazon HQ and their pricing policy was fluid, ie based on sales volumes. So that means that in day x they didn't know or plan what price would be on day x+60. So, if it's the same for CW they may not have had a plan to keep prices low, rather they decided ...

Re: Question about some prices on the CW's website

Of course CW can do whatever they wish with the prices at any time. But running a campaign with several emails with "hurry up, for limited time only, wont last forever", like they did with the Elite 1000... and then make it actually the new price, I find at least a bit disingenuous. I boug...

Re: NPD T4 project

Following on with the summaries… There hasn’t been much mention of the crystal so far so this one is simple. Crystal Due to the lack of crystal mentions it would seem that most are very satisfied with the current version. Some would like to see improved AR coatings or the use of a “Museum Grade” cr...

Re: NPD T4 project

The idea of having two different standards, 300 m and 600 m, does seem to make sense. After all, there are plenty of people for whom the look is important but the higher rating unnecessary. I'm not so sure it is a great idea. Let's face it, nobody needs 600m WR. The record for the deepest dive with...

Re: NPD T4 project

Following along on the case comments I have seen so far.... There seems to be a strong feeling about making the case thinner with a hope of getting it to 12mm potentially. This even if it reduces the ATM to 30 and/or if it would retain more or less the current price point. Since moving to a 60 ATM ...

Re: 100M waterproof vs 150M water resistant?

I can totally see that happening especially with the crown pointed toward the forearm. The new Serica 5303 allows you to select the crown direction at order time (3 or 9 o'clock). Nice little touch. Those Serica's are nice ! In fact any ETA/Sellita based non-date can be easily converted to "cr...

Re: NPD T4 project

I will also support the idea of applied twin-flags at 12. Get rid of the name completely and balance with the date at 6. For the C60 GMT, the bezel has to be at least bi-directional, also add some sort of marker (small dot or dash) between the numbers on the bezel for the odd hours. I find the bezel...

Re: 100M waterproof vs 150M water resistant?

I don't think he is inferring the water pressure does it rather the user does inadvertently by either knocking it or putting pressure on it with the back of your hand. Correct. With the back of the hand, or rubbing against a wetsuit (I wear the watches on my right wrist). Got a Steinhart Ocean 1 fl...

Re: 100M waterproof vs 150M water resistant?

I’ll admit to being a bit scared of taking my C65 GMT with 150m water resistance swimming, this is mostly because of the lack of screw down crown That's just daft. It's no more or less water resistant to 150m than a watch with a screw down crown. True, but a screw-down crown adds a level of mechani...

Re: 100M waterproof vs 150M water resistant?

I just realized that their calculations are off by 1 atm although clearly they don't mean that 30 meters should be taken to 30 meters. It should be noted that at 30 meters of water you are at 4 atm, not 3. Technically, you're right. at 30m down there are 4 bars of absolute pressure, but the s...
