Re: Dartmouth black dial: screw down crown ?

Thank you Kip, that's excellent news !

I'm fine with the rated WR, but I've had crown accidents while diving in the past, that's why I only trust a screw-down crown. A push-in crown is too much risk.

Re: Dartmouth black dial: screw down crown ?

I'm not sure about the particular models you are discussing, but I can't see the point of having a screw down crown on a manual wind watch, such as the c65 vintage. Technically though, I don't think you actually need a screw down crown for a watch to be waterproof. I would trust CW WR ratings, in a...

Re: Dartmouth black dial: screw down crown ?

Thanks for chiming in ! Looking forward to receiving confirmation from owners of the black... I also asked CW via the contact form of the website, but have asked things before and never got an answer through that channel... I still want to believe. The black Dartmouths are all in pre-order, could it...

Dartmouth black dial: screw down crown ?

Hello, I was considering a birthday gift to myself and the black dial Dartmouth looked promising,. In the website all the black dial versions are described as having a screw down crown in the list of features, while all the blue dial version's appear as having a push-in crown. Is this correct or som...

Hybrid strap V2

Hi, Is the current version of the Hybrid strap noticeably more comfortable than the original ? What did they change ? I have a couple of the first gen ones, and as much as I want to love them, I end up removing and wearing something else. If the new ones are better I may consider buying one. Thanks ...

Re: What would I like CW to Design next?

With the 40mm size being so popular among the Tridents I think it's time to redesign the 20mm bracelet: make a narrower clasp and make the bracelet taper more. As it is now the bracelet overpowers the watch head somewhat. This change would improve the overall proportions significantly. Another sligh...

Re: C65 Super Compressor

My take on the new SC, FWIW... I was initially very excited about this introduction. I mean, a REAL Supercompressor after so many years ! My first proper watch was a 1969 Tissot Supercompressor I inherited from my father that I don’t have anymore. Nostalgia factor was strong. But to put things in co...

And what about the internal bezel ?

Is it really unidirectional and with clicks ?
How does it feel ?

Re: CW crown and stem system

On the other hand I did find this! BB94BCB2-6482-410E-9245-EC6A390A5D44.png Neil This kind of publicity amazes me. "If you're scuba diving one kilometer below.... you're a dead diver with a (maybe) still working watch on yor wrist !" To the original question, I'm pretty sure there's a flat ...

Re: Introducing the C65 Military Range - Dartmouth / Sandhurst / Cranwell

(and it has a Triplock style screw-down crown with 4 gaskets, and it's cheaper than the CW) That means when it leaks it won't be from the crown ;) So true... But is the part you interact with the most. I like having a strong design there. Casebacks and crystals are a lot more static: if gaskets are...

I kinda like the Dartmouth, but I already have this one that I actually use for diving all the time:

Re: Introducing the C65 Military Range - Dartmouth / Sandhurst / Cranwell

Guess I prefer a screw down as well. Gives a level of percieved security, although not a deal breaker for me personally. This is not a watch I would ever take diving. Surely with a 150 rating it would be good for the occasional dunking. It is 2019, hopefully the technology relating to stem seals ha...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

Personally, I'd never submerge a watch which doesn't have a screw-down crown in anything deeper than a sink, but that's just me being a wimp. I am on the same boat. And I frankly don't understand why, in this day and age, the C65s were designed without a screw down crown. Glad to see that the issue...
