Re: Car phone cradle

^^^^I can't stand using Google maps on Android auto but that might change one day. For now I'm much happier with the inbuilt sat nav. As for a phone holder, is blue tac not sufficient? Give Waze a go - same map detail (Google bought them) but much friendlier interface  Naaah, I quite likey...

Re: Rolex: OP39 v Explorer1

Maybe it's advancing age (but still 20 years younger than AVO)... You can go off people... :grandpa: However, the more I think about the Explorer, the more I can’t stop seeing this blue Santos. https://www.cartier.co.uk/content/dam/rcq/car/17/09/95/1/1709951.png.scale.1600.high.santos-de-cartier-wa...

While the lume seems and impressive blue in the photos to my eyes it looks green.
That's definitely green to me as well. Google searches show lume in green and blue on the same model. I'm probably wrong but it suggests to me that they're using super luminova on some and chromalight on others.

Re: Rolex: OP39 v Explorer1

Reading Goldsmiths are my closest Rolex AD also. In early 2018 I visited them a few times to try on various watches particularly the Speedy, PO and SMP but on 1 visit I mentioned that the Explorer was a possible alternative purchase if I could get to see 1. They surprised me by saying they had rece...

Re: Rolex: OP39 v Explorer1

^^^^ It has to be an Explorer I'm afraid. Given two responses out of the three enquiries I've made I'm fairly satisfied I'll pick one up without a problem. A 4 month wait doesn't bother me at all, given I plan to keep it and pass it on to one of my kids.

Re: Rolex: OP39 v Explorer1

Wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole, old boy. It’s nowt but **** toffee-nosed ****! I am in a similar position in that I am seriously considering an Explorer as my retirement watch. Fortunately I have previous (twice) with the only Rolex AD in Norwich. But if they expected me to buy an OP or DJ just...

Re: Rolex: OP39 v Explorer1

A wee bump to this thread as I don't want to start a new one needlessly. I'm almost certainly going to buy an Explorer in the next 18 months or so and have started to put the feelers out with AD's with regards to availability. I had a decent chat with my most local one and they seemed happy to get a...

Re: Advice please

As plenty of others have said it's very hard to buy a watch for someone. My wife could only get it right if she added £4k to your budget and bought me a Rolex Explorer. She's not likely to buy me one but she won't waste money on something else either.

Re: Good customer service with CW

Despite taking forever with numerous time scales broken my watch came back yesterday. Repaired under warranty after I dropped it (I fully expected to pay). They even replaced the crystal that had a tiny scratch on it which is by far and beyond expectations. The crown is easier to wind than it was pr...

Re: Bad experience with Christopher ward watch and it's customer services

My biggest gripe is that she says in the same email that the watch still hasn't arrived back to them yet. I had previously asked if I could collect it from them rather than have it posted as I'm just a 5 minute walk away. They insisted it can't be collected as "they have no reception" area to facil...

Re: Bad experience with Christopher ward watch and it's customer services

In response to my request for a "realistic" timescale for return I was told "it shouldn't be much longer for you' This was followed by "My sincere apologies for the slight delay in this and any inconvenience this may of caused." Yep, 9 weeks later than the original time quoted is a slight delay. In...
