Re: False scarcity & Steel Sports Watches

That's just a basic economics lesson surely? I'm not quite sure who the authors preaching to though and I'd imagine that the vast majority of the people making these purchases already understand and/or have too much money to care. Did I really want a Rolex Explorer - yes Did I want it because of hyp...

Re: Tan lines

I've never even considered doing this. In truth, people are more likely to see my white backside than the white band around my left wrist.

Re: “You and Your Watches” - 10 questions

1. How did you become interested in watches, and when? When I was very young (4-6 years old I think). Early 1980's. I made my mum buy me a cheap digital from a market stall that may or may not have been a Casio. I was fascinated by the stop watch function. 2. How did you become interested in Christo...

Re: Dibley gets Fibre!

The switch was made yesterday while I was out at work. By the time I came home it was all working perfectly. I have just watched a 50 minute YouTube program with no buffering! That's all very good but it can't nearly match the excitement of a ten minute wait for a naked lady to load up on the...

Online isn't any good for me unfortunately.
From a personal perspective, I'm very glad to hear that :)
You work with a bookie online? I'm stake limited to zero with most online, tends to be the way if you know what you're doing.

Re: As things open up some

^^^^^^there have always been things to bet on for the desperados. Football and horse racing is slowly coming back. They didn't just not stop in Belarus, the actually started the new season when everyone else was shutting down. Their President reckoned you just need vodka and saunas to stay healthy. ...

Re: As things open up some

It's a painful wait for the bookies top re-open and it's still a long way off.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

I'm sorry Steve but this made me chuckle. Only because it reminded me of a time that a package reached me from Dubai in 23 hours and at the same time it took my work 14 days to take a box up two flights of stairs.

Re: How far will watch prices drop?

It took a huge amount of deliberation but I took the plunge and paid for an Explorer. I was on a knife edge with it as I'm sure the watches will be readily available after the shops are open again and I was more than happy to wait longer. However, there was opportunity to save a few quid and I'm Sco...

Re: Daily specials to beat the sales peaks!

I'm sure there is software out there that help people get these sales items. Similar to the automated ticket purchasing software that touts use on sites such as Ticketmaster. This sort of thing would have probably been cost prohibitive in the past, but it's relatively cheap to get someone on the As...

Re: How far will watch prices drop?

I would think the most important thing to cover after being satisfied it's not a phishing scam would be to check with your credit card company that they'll cover you under section 75. Run for the hills type scenario if not.
