my first foray into macro photography
are you manually triggering the shutter? if so, you should at least set it on a timer. your hand will trigger some vibrations when you press the shutter release. if you set a 10 sec timer, the camera should have time to settle. I was using my remote shutter release, but I may have bumped the tripod...

my first foray into macro photography
Good effort. How are you lighting the photos? Shadow/flare photos can be achieved by "tenting". By this,I mean putting a tent shaped piece of white Muslin material over the object. Cut a whole to point the lens through, and shining lamps through the material. Sounds complicated,is easy to ...

my first foray into macro photography
The last one is the best one, I think. Nice contrast and crispness. The other ones seem to be slightly underexposed and a bit soft (are you holding the camera in your hands or using a tripod?). Keep practicing it, macro photography is all about control and restraint. Hi Pete, I was holding the came...

my first foray into macro photography
Don't you just love the way macro shots brings out every scratch and dink that you normally can't see. lol, I thought that "patina" was valued in older watches? everything is original, I am still amazed that the front crystal has stood up to the abuse that I have subjected the watch...

my first foray into macro photography
Hi all, I just purchased a what is a new to me macro lens for my camera, and I took some pictures of my Hamilton Chrono with it. I thought that I would post a few of the pics to get some feedback. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-S0iRnsX9A3I/T5M1qYuFOpI/AAAAAAAAAx4/36sBCfPXWG0/s720/_MG_0038.JPG ht...

is anyone having customer service problems with Steinhart?
I have been browsing around on WUS and I came across a couple of threads regarding problems with and frustration regarding Steinhart customer service. While for me, it has been a mixed bag of outstanding responses to any inquires that I may have, to a frustratingly slow response time, and overall la...

Re: Some side-by-side pics of my C60 GMT and Ocean One GMT
I've had a couple of Steinharts and I'm not impressed with the quality. I found them pretty tinny and the bezel action was a but loose for my taste. I was comparing directly to a 16710 so perhaps a little unfair considering the price difference but considering the quality I've experienced with simi...
