Re: Spinning rotor syndrome on my FLE: Cured?
Do not, do not, do not give the crown a sharp tern to try and free the rotor. This issue is very common on 2824 and SW200 movements and relates to excessive friction within the reversing wheels and/or the automatic winding mechanism. You can often free up the mechanism by first wearing the watch for...

Re: This One Slipped Through QC
Most bezels are attached with double sided tape. I have removed the bezel insert on my Meccaniche Veneziane GMT with the golf club grip solvent (Dynacraft Golf Grip Solvent). It came off like a dream in a few hours of the face/bezel just in the solvent. The solvent is very mild and does no damage (A...

I believe Polywatch will take the coating off. Not done it myself but remember seeing posts about this a while ago.

Re: Finally got the bracelet off!
Taking bracelets off is 10 times easier than putting back on. Number one tip is the right tools, never tweezers, quality spring bar tool (not cheap china one as prongs generally too soft and break). Always tape the lugs especially when replacing as they will get scratched if you don't. ps - I hate c...

Re: eBay experience
I tried to buy a new watch on Chrono24. The new Hamilton PSR LED, a pre-order. I committed to buy at the stated price (a well known store in Germany) my offer (the stated price} was excepted and about a week later they cancelled my order. Lucky me then bought it from Francis Gaye in the UK with 20% ...

Re: C6 Replacement sapphire crystal
In my view you have three options: 1) Do Nothing - live with it. 20 buy a secondhand unit and use the crystal. You would need a press to fit the crystal if doing it yourself. 3) Find a replacement (non OEM) which may take a while but is likely to be available. Again you would need a press to fit if ...

Re: Unusual Service charge from 3rd party shop
In general the reversing wheels in 2824/SW200 units are the most common items to need attention. I have cleaned three sets from CW watches. I even posted the process on this forum with photos. Its a bit fiddly and you need the correct lubricants to do it which is why some just replace (about £30).

Re: Finance for Watches
Bought many, many items on 0% where I would not have if the offer was not available. I bought the Beast in the Jan sale for £51 per month over 12 months. I buy expensive video cards and video cameras too, many even come with cash back.
