Re: Advice on servicing a CW Makaira

I would imagine CW would have methods for removing damaged screw heads during service but if you wanted to keep it local you could try this: BD67A19E-60F3-4DA2-BBEA-2AE1519E4680.png Once the damaged screws are removed, you could take it to your local watchmaker to complete the repair/service. That l...

Re: New CW Releases - Jan 2020 - C60 Elite 1000

I sort of like the brushed ceramic bezel on the black. Not sure I’ve seen that execution on on ceramic insert before.

Re: Jan sale

Picked up a bracelet for my C9, at 70% off it seemed rude not to. I’d be interested to know how the fitment is on your C9. I picked one up in last year’s sale but the endlinks didn’t fit snugly. Apparently their are at least two different endlinks for the C9 variations. Mine is a JH but I surmised ...

Re: MKIII 40 vs. 42mm

The 40 has a 20mm lug width and the 42 a 22mm lug width if that would be of any consideration for you. I prefer the wider strap width so it would be the 42 for me.

Re: Clearance Returns

So far so good CW! [-o< Hope you get what you ordered...I didn't. Ordered a C65 handwinder...rec'd a C65 Auto...which is a beauty as it turns out and I'll probably just keep it. Was that recent? Yesterday. As mistakes go, not horrible but getting the right watch in the right box should be QC ...

Re: Misery seeking company

I feel horrible and I have nothing to do with the watch  My CW C8 Flyer sacrificed itself for me during a clumsy fall on a city sidewalk. I faired better than the watch. I eventually had CW re-case the watch which in the example of a diver would include a new bezel and crystal. It was very reas...

Re: COSC Regulation of a Movement?

You might want to have it professionally "timed"...you may find it falls within COSC specs as it stands. Some do. Unless the certificate itself is important to you, over a period of time, any certified movement may fall out of spec anyway.

Re: Hands-On Debut: Timex Navi XL Automatic Watch

The Timex website has other quartz models in the Navi line with similar hand sets that align perfectly with the numeral ring so I would presume it is a pre-production issue.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

^^^ exactly this - any watch built upon the stylings of the Dartmouth will have no link whatsoever to the military. Plus you'd have to be very naïve to not think the Dartmouth case and dial style won't be used again in the future Then we're not really talking about a Dartmouth then. The Dartmouth h...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

OK, Mark, now that we know what you don’t like...what WOULD you like? As supporter of the original design, some variation of that is my preference. It is clear that is not the direction the group is going. I am open to other ideas and anything I would suggest would include a white dial and black ma...
