Re: Misery seeking company

I feel horrible and I have nothing to do with the watch  My CW C8 Flyer sacrificed itself for me during a clumsy fall on a city sidewalk. I faired better than the watch. I eventually had CW re-case the watch which in the example of a diver would include a new bezel and crystal. It was very reas...

Re: COSC Regulation of a Movement?

You might want to have it professionally "timed"...you may find it falls within COSC specs as it stands. Some do. Unless the certificate itself is important to you, over a period of time, any certified movement may fall out of spec anyway.

Re: Hands-On Debut: Timex Navi XL Automatic Watch

The Timex website has other quartz models in the Navi line with similar hand sets that align perfectly with the numeral ring so I would presume it is a pre-production issue.

Priced right too. Around $500US with shipping.👍 I bought my first Steinhart about five years ago. Prices have changed little, if at all since.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

^^^ exactly this - any watch built upon the stylings of the Dartmouth will have no link whatsoever to the military. Plus you'd have to be very naïve to not think the Dartmouth case and dial style won't be used again in the future Then we're not really talking about a Dartmouth then. The Dartmouth h...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

OK, Mark, now that we know what you don’t like...what WOULD you like? As supporter of the original design, some variation of that is my preference. It is clear that is not the direction the group is going. I am open to other ideas and anything I would suggest would include a white dial and black ma...

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

I hate...Ok, strongly dislike the current renditions of both the C60 MkIii and the Dartmouth. The C60 translucent dial is just awful. There is nothing attractive about a wholly exposed date disk on a timepiece and the flags on flags motif stretched across the dial are better suited to an opaque show...

“CW Research Event”

Did this event happen? Received an email awhile back that was discussed here but being from the states, I didn’t respond. It was supposed to be held in late September at 2nd Floor, 3 Finsbury Avenue, London. Curious if it occurred and if so, did any forum members attended?

Re: FLE #8 - major changes

Maybe someone with more skill at PS could re-do this if there is any interest in it... https://i.imgur.com/bd4jnue.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pWaFwH0.jpg The current CW military collection, although interesting; has no emotional connection for those members living outside the UK. Since the forum is an...

Re: Bentley Flying Spur

The cost of buying the Bentley may be only the cost of a dozen or so decent CW’s, however; the cost of OWNING the car may be more like buying a dozen or so Tudor’s. Signed, former Porsche 911 owner.😉🤣

Re: Crackle When Screwing Down Crown

When I screw the crown down, I hear a little "crackling" when I turn the crown and it closes. Do you also “feel” the “crackle”? If so, I suspect it is actually just a slight mis-match of the thread pitch of the crown and case or perhaps some burring in the threads from sub-optimum finishing. I have...

Re: FLE #8 - major changes

I personally don’t have a problem with an aluminum bezel although, I would assume that the aluminum option would impact the ability to apply lume to the numerals as currently on the ceramic gmt’s? This may have a larger impact on my decision.

Everything “groovin” said plus a 20mm lug width is a no go for me.
