Re: Vacuum Cleaners...
We too have a Dyson V8, not impressed for the expense, so we also have a backpack Makita https://makitauk.com/product/dvc261zx11 which I find a much better design compromise, though pulling it on and off is a bit of a fag. It is designed for professional cleaning contractors (we have three long hair...

Re: What would you change about your CW?
I would like to see CW pay more attention to legibility, particularly on white faced models. So many nice designs of the past are impractical because CW insisted on using silver hands on white dials while many of the C9s used hands that all look the same so that it is impossible to read time at a gl...

Re: Show your pet!
^^^ Yep, the second one we've had. The most impractical of cats (would never have chosen them, they both needed homes so what can you do?) but they are very affectionate and intelligent. Here is the pack (GSDs not shown): Matron (Maine Coon), Satie (mogg, my personal cat) & Tesshu (Persian) we j...

Re: Replacement O rings
How much torque is needed to turn the screw or is it quite slack? The screw head is weird as it's not slotted all the way across and the sides look radiused under magnification so looks like there is quite a risk of the screwdriver blade slipping Thanks so much again Mike Very little, but they tend...

Re: Replacement O rings
Topping up the good advice above: you can use Vaseline instead of Silicone grease (best) but oil is not a good idea as mentioned. Also, some oils can attack some O-rings. If UK based, Cousins is a good source for everything to do with mucking about with watches https://www.cousinsuk.com though they ...

Re: Are CW Too Affordable?
The idea was how CW could charge higher prices. Going to the high street would be a way for them to do that. Quality wise they do stack up to other makes that are charging more. Giving the extra margin to the High Street won't help the business unless volume expands considerably, though no argument...

Re: Are CW Too Affordable?
CW margins do not work with High Street Jewellers and the logistics are totally different, but maybe a few strategic boutiques could work for expanding beyond watch people.

The real thing is the Bernard Favre Planet, approx €1500 depending on exact model, definitely a talking point if just a little pricey....

Re: Are CW Too Affordable?
It's going to be interesting to see the 2021 accounts which are just about due.
2020 loss 1.875M
2019 loss 368k
From Companies House filings.
I very much hope they do better, but it ain't easy.

Re: Are CW Too Affordable?
CW has continued to lose money over the years, so purely economically, yes their prices needs to rise though that has to be managed carefully. I believe we are seeing that evolution, not forgetting they have an investor now and the pressure is surely on to get into the black. We know they want to mo...

I just wanted to say my sincere appreciation of what you and everyone else offered in here that helped me to push through my situation. Very happy to help and to be a small part of you (and CW) getting the right result and most of all I do hope you have many years of enjoying your watch when it com...

Re: Dilemma
I would hazard that you will get a much better price if the watch is as it should be. Speaking personally, I nearly always buy SH and only go after top condition pieces, anything less (unless rare and especially desirable) is immediately ignored as not worth the trouble/cost so I strongly suspect yo...
